View Full Version : Would be nice to see more of them
I think it would be nice to see the Management posting around more. nvrspk4 is the manager, and that's pretty much all I do know about him. I wouldn't even know what gender he was if it wasn't in his details. I think people would think of him as a better manager if he posted around a bit more and got to know people. Probably the only time I have ever seen Jin posting is when he closes threads in the feedback section. :P I know Jin and nvrspk4 are probably really busy, especially jin fixing things all the time but they should at least try to post around and interact with the people they actually run the site for. :)

Jin speaks, never doesnt, sierk doesnt.
its a thing about once you get higher than smod you start becoming super natural and ignore posts and pms. Jin avoided it because hes super man

does this apply to me :8
I do see what you are saying, I think it is important that managers get involved on a community level too. That's what I tried to keep posting as AFM. Nevertheless, it is inevitable that as you 'rise the ranks' in Habbox you are going to become more and more busy and therefore it becomes a lot more difficult to find the time to post around the Forums generally. Jin and nvr are the two main examples of this. They reply to PMs, threads in staff areas and often threads in feedback but if they were to do any more than this they would probably have to sacrifice excessive amounts of their lives OR things like replying to all PMs and feedback etc promptly and effectively. If they started posting around the Forum all day, then they wouldn't be able to do other things so much and people would moan about that and therefore I think they are fine how they are now :).

I agree entirely. It'd be nice to see general management posting in discussions rather than just sticking to this forum and announcements. I know they're busy but a couple of posts a day in a discussion wouldn't go a miss in my opinion!

We've got Catzsy who's away so she's got an excuse, Jin posts quite a bit, mainly in this section, we've got Sam who sticks to Spam and this section mainly, we've got Mr.OSH who seems to be active for a week then disappear for months and we've got nvr and he's American, so it's hard for him to join in the discussion because by the time he posts it's usually over (unless it's in feedback).
The actual department managers (with the exception of Jess (sowwi)) seem to post quite a lot around the forum from what I've seen.

I agree with most of what you have said but I see people like MattGarner, the Forum Manager, posting around quite often yet he does a superb job. The question is, is the amount of work Matt G does comparable to the amount of work Nvr and Jin do? If it is then that gives Jin and nvr no excuse to not post if Matt G can do it. :P

I do agree with you. But Jin does actually post quite a bit and he's always around the hotel talking to people. Nvrspk I actually havn't ever seen around and have only ever seen 1 post from him. As for Sierek I think he's always busy, but I have seen one post from him. :)

No doubt Matt does a lot of work, but I am sure nvr and Jin's workloads are often higher and indeed the scope of the work is often different. They both make an effort to post where most needed, i.e. here and occasionally post elsewhere too, I just think it would be too much on top of what they already have to do to become active members of the community.

I think sierk should retire, what's the point in him owning Habbox if he doesn't care about it?

Don't see why owners should post. Jin and Nvr are not staff so doesn't really have any reason to although Jin does anyway. I agree I think any staff member, which includes Nvr, Sam, Jay, Rosie should post as they are still at the end of the day, staff, even though they are management. Nvr lives in America so I agree it's hard for him to post for time difference. Sam posts quite a bit, and as said above Jay and Rosie are away. I do agree sort of though.

Isn't nvr ill atm? Last time I checked his signature (which was a while ago admittedly), it said he was ill and could only reply to the urgent PMs?
As for more active managers, I don't really think there's a problem. Almost everyone (excluding sierk - and who includes him nowadays?, catszy and Mr.OSH - who are both away) posts sufficently. There's the new Habbox Newsletter coming out, that'll be a way for managers to mingle with the community a little bit more.

I believe Nvr has swine flu. Hope he is getting better :(! I try and post around the forum on a regular basis to be honest, most of the time I'm in the technology section but I do post in other areas where I can. :)

Yeah Matt you post quite a bit. Jin does sometimes. Nvr doesn't really - even when he wasn't ill. I respect he's busy and all that but it'd be nice to see him get a little involved and not too alienated from the community.

Yeh I used you as an example of a manager that does a lot of work yet still mingles in with the community. If your not training your troops to infract people like me and your not sorting out all the usual managers stuff, your posting. You are a great role model to all the other Managers! :P

He has become quiet lately. The way it appears, Jin is the Manager :P Only person I've seen lately showing any sort of power.
Sierk is hardly around, though he doesn't really need to give much impact on anything - no major changes or additions at least :P
Also, wouldn't being ill mean you're on the computer more often than usual? Less distractions like school, work, college and uni etc :P Or has he been hospitalised?

Depends on the person. I can't look at a computer screen when I'm ill cos it just gives me a headache but for others, it's fine. :D
NVR is away until further notice, hes concentrating on exams or something

Maybe you should say it depends on the illness? Like if you are ill because of broken/damaged bones or something more physical like that then you are likely going to be on the PC more. But if it's blocked sinuses/migraine etc then you might get a headache from looking at a PC, however I don't. :P

That is the most baseless comment of the year.
He does care about it. Just because he does not post does not mean he does nothing. When I was staff, he used to keep in touch regularly with all Smods/Managers. You have to realise that he is a grown up man with a job. He takes care of Habbox behind the scenes. If he didn't "care about it", this site would have died many years ago.
Also Jin does post quite often, maybe less now considering his uni has restarted and has the Help Desk to take care of (well the room), and fix all the problems with the site.
nvr, however, should post more often.
But the problem is, when you are running a site at Admin level, it becomes very hard to post regularly in discussions. I have owned many popular forums with 40,000 unique hits a day, and the amount of work required to just run the site is unbelievable. I rarely had time to read threads which were not in the feedback/complaints section.
So the thing is, I can't really blame the Admins as I understand their position well as I have been in the same position before.
The biggest mistake people make is that they think running a site is easy, but believe me, its extremely hard.

I posted lots while I was a department manaja :D. I don't blame nvr and Jin one bit though for not posting outside the necessary forums as their workload is immense. The same would apply for other members of the forum administration. Would be a nice treat to see a few words from sierk once in a while though :P.

one of the main reason he is still here is because he pays alot to keep it up and running. If he didnt care why would he pay so much

I highly doubt this is the case, why would a 25+ year old man run a Habbo fansite that he doesn't post on and it losing money? Use your noggin - it's not logical. Ad and donator revenue keeps it running.

That will not cover it, there aren't that many donators and although the guests cover their costs via ads, we members post threads and such which needs far more CPU and takes up more traffic.
I know plenty of owners in similar situations who care greatly and pay a lot of money yet do not have the time to help out with things.

Far more CPU? I assume you mean bandwidth... I don't know whether you realised but Habbox changed servers a while back to a 'bargain' server if you will and if Sierk is paying for this site then he truly is... weird. Anyway, I imagine ads and donator gives them £50/100 p/month if they're implemented correctly etc. That's enough for a cheap server.

It still requires a lot of financial input from the admins. Jin contributes most, I think.

You need a better server (Generally CPU) when you have a lot of traffic or the server will crash and they have to pay for a shoutcast server and for the main site hosting and then comes the licenses. Such as the license to broadcast music which is several hundred pounds per year and then there's VB, yearly liscense is around £50 and the security updates are £30. Trust me Advertising and Donator don't cover it.
@Robald I thought that Jin paid nothing to be Co-Owner in the end? Or did he?
It doesnt rly matter to me either way if they post or not but i suppose it would be better if they did a little?
and also for sierk i havnt eveer seen one post from him in my whole time on this forum unless its 1 from along time ago never something i see when looking around. Although im usually in rs section so i guess he wouldnt post there

What do you mean? He didn't buy the position of co-owner. He's always effectively been an unofficial co-owner anyway and has always contributed financially. It's none of my business though really.

What more do you want him to do? He puts up money to help keep the most popular habbo based forum going, hell he doesn't even NEED to care about it, you should show more appreciation for what he does do for the site rather than what you believe he should be doing. From when I spoke to him while I was an smod/manager he's a really nice guy and is always there to answer questions or deal with major problems when needed.
