I've just got tickets to go see Kelly Clarkson, in Manchester. I'm needing a train from Middlesbrough to Manchester Picca on the 7th Fed with a next day return. I'm **** with trains, I went to the London o2 the other month and paid like £110 and I had people telling me I could have got the train wayyyyy cheaper so... Advice please! Where/how do I get a cheap train lol.
I assume by 'Fed' you mean Feb :p. What time do you want to leave, Mr Barker? Or what time do you want to get there for?
Edit: and what station do you want to arrive at. I'd guess piccadilly?

trains in England are a rip off, when I was over in London, I was very suprised at the price of the fares on trains (apart from the tube, that was cheap)
Get a 16-25/student railcard. Only cost £20 for a year, but you make it back + more on the savings. Only get it if you use trains more than a couple of times a month though, or if you travel long distances.

Aye, it is but that's because it's all run by private companies who are competing whereas in ireland it's run by the state so it's cheaper for you. Lucky git

If your going to the MEN arena, then the actual arena is build into the station, so you just go up a set of stairs and your literally at the doors to go into the arena, great for people like yourself arriving by train :)

Ye but that's victoria and i think trains from mid go into piccadilly, plus the fact the trams are out of service until like the end of next month. I think there's a bus that runs between the two stations atm though

Came back today but the met being the met, trams stopped running from Piccadilly after a while due to a unknown fault.. :eusa_wall
Anyway, get the train to Piccadilly and walk to Victoria (where the MEN is), it takes about 15/20 minutes max to walk it.
