No, not Rob Zombie's completely useless and boring remake, but John Carpenter's five-star original. It's on tonight at 11.20pm, followed by Halloween II, for those who are out of your mind and don't own the DVD or Blu-ray. The absolute best film to celebrate Halloween.

Quite.
Halloween 1 was good :P Halloween 2 on another hand is really good
It's only been 20 mins in and I already prefer it to the first one, anyway how many halloween's are there?

You prefer Halloween II over the original? Insanity.
There are seven sequels to the original, ending in 2002's Halloween: Resurrection. Naturally they get worse as they go on, and the last two especially are really awful. Then in 2007, Rob Zombie's remake was released, and of course this year the sequel to the remake, which was a big fat dud at the box office.

Halloween III: Season of the Witch is on tonight on BBC 2 at around midnight I believe. It's when the film-makers tried to go in a different direction in the series and not include a story relevant to or including the character of Michael Myers. It didn't work because fans wanted to see more of Myers, so this is the one and only film in the series that isn't a slasher, yet it's still really good, and just deserves to stand on its own as Season of the Witch.
Im not a huge fan of Halloween but i have seen most of them and they are pretty good

Spoiler alert :(
Don't worry, it's pretty much just the general plot, and it's even in the TV magazine. Don't be deterred from watching it :) Just be expecting something completely different than the last two.
I cant care for spoilers xD Doesnt really spoil anything for me I gotta see it to believe it. :P

Enjoy it, but remember to forget that it's even a Halloween film when you see it. Just imagine it's a completely stand alone and seperate individual film that has no relevance to the Halloween series at all... because it really doesn't. If you go into it expecting that you will be severley disappointed! It's its own movie.
so basically its just like Halloween 1,2,4,5 that go in the story?

1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 follow the same story. 3 is simply where they tried to make different films under the Halloween banner because they wanted to do other things than just Michael Myers.

Oright, I only read the first place as the second one wouldn't load so sorry.
Halloween III: Season of the Witch doesn't exactily follow the same story line as the others.
Anymore halloween films on?

I watched them both. Wasn't all that great :$. It was just stab, shoot, dead. Alive. Dead. Alive. Dead. Was abit too repetative and unreal to be believable for me.

The original Halloween is a horror masterpiece, but unfortunately the sequels, as you would expect, leave a lot to be desired. I don't count Season of the Witch as a sequel though, I just call it Season of the Witch, although that sometimes leads to confusion with the same title of George Romero's third film.
No, Jord, I believe that's all for BBC's airing of Halloween flicks. They nearly always show Season of the Witch on Halloween, but not usually the others. You can pick up the entire collection on DVD, but it's quite expensive.

They also show Halloween H20: 20 Years Later at random times throughout the year, but that film's awful.

Yes, that is correct. They are both cinematic abortions. Random trivia: Halloween H20 marked the feature film debut of Josh Hartnett.
Yes, Halloween 3D has been confirmed. I'm not sure why, since the Halloween II remake bombed at the worldwide box office. As has The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D.
