Hey I need your help picking a laptop. It will be used for school, playing Counter Strike Source L4D and COD4. I wouldn't like it to expensive, but I can't decied between HP and Dell which I get discounts on both as I'm a student. So if you can help me find a laptop that can do what I asked that would be great. +rep if I can for thoes who actually help me. *Note that please post prices in usd. or us sites*

If you want to play CS & COD4 on a laptop then you will need to spend quite a bit I think.

I'd go with Dell, just because I prefer them over HP.

If not you could always go with Alienware, which I think is a part of dell (it's a section on their website;http://www.dell.com/us/en/home/notebooks/laptop-gaming/ct.aspx?refid=laptop-gaming&s=dhs&cs=19&ref=lth - but they can be mega expensive.

Either change what you need out of the laptop (just general use I suggest, homework, move playback etc) - or fork out a huge price for the one which you want to cater for COD4/CS.

I can play CSS well on my MacBook (2GHz C2D, 2GB RAM and Nvidia 9400M), COD4 and L4D is alright if you play around with the settings, you could fairly easily get a decent machine from Dell to play these games :p

I go with HP. My dv6-1210sa is absolutely amazing with games, and should play these games well.

Any of these dv6 models should suit you: http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/computer_can_series.do?storeName=computer_store&category=notebooks&a1=Brand&v1=HP+Pavilion&a2=Solutions&v2=Students&series_name=dv6t_series&jumpid=in_R329_prodexp/hhoslp/psg/notebooks/HP_Pavilion/dv6t_series

They start at $679, and I'd have one over a Dell anyday.

That's actually the laptop I am thinking of getting.

Well, I own a slightly different one, the 1210sa (as I said), and they're amazing. They're not THAT heavy (compared to my old Acer Aspire 9300), they're very stylish, quite quick, and that HDMI port is capable of 1080p when connected to a 1080p screen.
