I work in a shop and today stopped a man getting away with 2 bottles of smirnoff that are £15.99 each by jumping on him and taking him to the ground right... And then found out I'd been given a warning for violent conduct!!! I SAVED THE STORE £32!!!!. Can they do that?? :S

Yeah they can. It's annoying but that's technically excessive force, according to the law...

How stupid!!! Now I'm gona have to go back to college ha. They had me on this course thing that could move me up and one day become a manager. I'll never be able to do it now if I have a warning on my record lol.

You should of got his number and found out where he'd be after work, then let him go. Would of been a right laugh.

That's an incredible over reaction, and the solicitor would turn around and say there's nothing you can do.

and no doubt their would be ways round it, and don't warnings expire after 2-4 years of no miss behaviour? and i doubt seeing you becoming a manager of a store in 2-4 years.

A warning doesn't effect you that much per se. Appealing it and failing, which I would say is pretty inevitable in this case, would have a much more negative impact. When I worked at Boots full time as a Supervisor, minor warnings we issued were removed from the file after one year.
