I was thinking that despite whatever the problems have been with GLPay, perhaps just for the Charity VIP, SMS Payments should be accepted.

It does not make a huge difference for me, as I will get VIP either way, however for many members Paypal is not a payment method they can use.

Just a thought.

I doubt habbo will allow HxF to sell VIP regardless of whether it is for Charity or not, that is until the newspapers get sent an email about how habbo is being immoral. Hopefully we'll get XMas donator though :D

Hopefully SMS donating will be back up though :)

It's allowed according to nvrspk4 in the other charity thread.

Selling VIP when 100% of proceeds go to charity is ok with Sulake - that's the only reason we were able to last year.

Anyway I'd like it to be on SMS cause as you say, many can't use PayPal - and that includes me. :P
On the other hand there's costs to consider and what not.

Costs? :D There's nothing to consider about costs! Whatever the size, there will always be SOME profit for charity :)

And yeh, last year I used SMStoPAYPAl now I am not sure on how I will do it.

Cost doesn't have to be in money sense, opportunity cost; like how much time it'll take to actually set up, how easy it is to do so, is it worth the hassle? etcetc. Sure there'd still be money for charities.
I remember looking at Jin's twitter (I think anyway), and he said he was working on getting SMS payment gateway sorted, but then some UK legislation cropped up which hindered the situation.

Anyway I think I've had my say now :P
I'd like to see SMS happening for Christmas, if not for a perm. basis.

If Jin could give an explanation to what the problem was with SMS I think we would all be very greatful (hint, hint) :D

Otherwise I see no reason why we should not have SMS donating, if not permanently for Christmas.

Would be great, and I am sure would up sales if permanently.

Okay so erm rest assure I am trying to come up with an SMS solution for this christmas at the very least.

Reasons why we are having issues reintroducing the sms system is purely the companies we have out there.

1) Already we are limited by companies which support UK network carriers.

2) Then we have cost limitations the majority of companies demand a setup fee and/or a monthly fee for the service. These fee's cost more than our expected income via sms resulting in a loss.

3) A lot of these services just aren't quite what we want and require a lot of bespoke programming in order to make this work ideally which in turn makes the whole transaction process a lot harder than it should be.
