Ive always thought that those 3D glasses just change the colour of what you're watching unless you go to a proper 3D cinema...

I have 2 pairs, i watched the demo but it doesn't look real really.

It doesn't even look real, it doesn't feel 3D, it doesn't feel like they are proper.

Real D glasses - the ones you get in cinemas - do not work.

What? Real 3D glasses don't work?

I'm using the ones that Sainsbury's supplied.

I'll probably stick to HD colour TV. Although I don't think I've ever actually seen anything in 3D. I realised years later that Spider-Man was 3D, they gave us like a card with the red and blue lenses, not actual glasses? :S Anyway I didn't realise at the time so didn't use it.

I should be going to see Avatar though, that's 3D isn't it? Will the glasses be required?

Misawa

Yes. Glasses are required to see anything in 3D.

I'm talking about 3D projection on TVs. Yes, I have seen that image, like 10 years ago.

You need glasses to see anything 3D on TV and on the big screen - they don't use that cheap '90s flicker effect. Channel 4 is using the new ColourCode glasses, which is merely one step up from the old red/blue glasses. It's pretty much going to be a substandard 3D experience. You're better off going to the cinema and watching something in Real D.

Are the glasses from Sainsburys free?

Misawa

Yes, they are.

Yes. Glasses are required to see anything in 3D.

I'm talking about the present day. Jesus.

for starters, im on about the present day too, its being tested.. and your two statements are contrasting, maybe you should consider how you word things in future, especially if youre a critic..

even the show itself is pretty piss poor

Misawa
16-11-2009, 10:34 PM
You shouldn't be expecting much anyway. It's very low-rent 3D.

Firehorse

derren's show is a little better. what made the last show so rubbish was constantly taking off and putting on the glasses.

Yes but the general public will not have access to these now, or the near future so misawa stands correct..

I was referring to watching anything in 3D on a TV and cinema, I.E. films and shows. I thought that was fairly obvious. Is it really needed to nitpick every post I make?

I noticed that they are showing Friday the 13th Part 3-D, the film where Jason dons the hockey mask for the first time, and his second appearance in a Friday film. My mate Stuart in London, owner of Screenjabber.com tried to get me some glasses to see it, but his local Sainsbury's store had ran out. For some reason the UK Blu-ray isn't in 3D, but the US is. Annoying. I'm sure it'll suck on Channel 4 anyway.

i dont nitpick every post you make, it jsut so happens that every thread i go to post in, youve posted something in it which deserves a reply..

and youre still wrong... i pointed to links, given examples and yet your still adamant that you need glasses to see things in 3D..

Misawa
17-11-2009, 05:44 PM
I am fully aware 3D TVs are in development, and have been for a long time. YOU CANNOT see 3D on a TV in the present day without glasses.

kk.
17-11-2009, 05:55 PM
which is not what you said to begin with, which is why i posted that stuff.. what arent you getting

dirrty
17-11-2009, 06:02 PM
omg why do u care so much whether what he said was right or not, get over it :S:S:S

but anyway not gonna bother with '3d week' anymore as it was all hype and no substance.

Black_Apalachi
17-11-2009, 07:48 PM
which is not what you said to begin with, which is why i posted that stuff.. what arent you getting

To be fair, he stated he was talking about what is available on the market today and is right in what he said. I don't understand why you accepted that and yet still continue arguing that there is other technology being developed as it is beside the point, kkkkkkkkkkk.

kk.
17-11-2009, 08:12 PM
To both above..

i had left it after i said what i needed to. He didnt in his first post say that it we was just about today and whats available now, which is when i posted. Then someone quoted me so im not gonna just not say yeh sure whatever am i? im gonna argue my point, which is where adam then commented etc etc etc. So im not going on and on and on about how hes wrong, im defending my own statements when otehr people quote me to prove me wrong..

Black_Apalachi

But your first post in the thread was;

seriously, how many times do i have to tell you, 3D TVs are being made as we speak without glasses..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autostereoscopic

http://www.examiner.com/x-4255-Philadelphia-Tech-Gear-Examiner~y2009m2d22-3DFusion-Makes-3D-television-possible-while-preserving-dignity

And his first response to you was;

I'm talking about the present day. Jesus.

He immediately informed you he was talking about the present day, hence his original statment;

Yes. Glasses are required to see anything in 3D.

The keyword being 'are' which signifies present tense. Regardless of anything in future development, that statement is correct. I'm just trying to show you the disagreement from an impartial perspective :P.

Couldn't agree more. The picture still looks the same with them on and without them on for me. Gave me a headache on top of that. Channel 4 HD was even worse.

I gave up 40 minutes in. It was actually unbearable. The only reason I was watching is because the UK Blu-ray isn't in 3D, yet the US one is :S
