A user sent me a message about free credits on a website, using the chat feature, not in a room. A scam obviously, so I thought I'll report her to a mod, so they can stop it, and not let people fall for it, all good right? I then get a message back, after about 20 seconds, from them saying I should not abuse the reporting system. So I ask, can Habbo read your chat messages? And why should they jump to conclusions so fast that I am abusing the system?

They can. The 'don't abuse' is a generic message, from probably a new mod. There's been a bunch of stupid bans lately, and the CFH has been no use at all.

But in answer to your question, yes. They can read IM's, and reporting it is not abusing the CFH.

Habbo are behind on e-mails and CFH's so just send 1 message and be patient. You did the right thing :)

Yes, they can read chatlogs

I hate it when habbo give you messages like that. I get 'em all the time just do what you think, keep telling mods when you think they're scamming or whatever.

Tbh telling the mods about anything on live report is a waste of time /space/effort..nothing is ever done..you get the generic reply back.. the problem returns so you report again and get TOTALLY IGNORED..each habbo online is possible money in the bank so in 99% of reports ABSOLUTELY NOTHING will be done ...cynical.....maybe..In my experience TOTALLY TRUE
