So i just downloaded windows xp via torrent, burned it to a disk and everything.
But on the laptop i want to put it on i cant change the 1st boot option to DVD.

I have a HP 6735s laptop, if that helps.

Anyone know how i can make it work?

I can choose the boot from CD/DVD, but nothing happens,

Once you have changed the boot option have you definitely saved it? - If you have i see no reason why it won't boot. There is probably a problem with the disc/torrent.

theres nowhere to change the boot order, i can only choose where to boot from. And when i chooses cd/dvd nothing happens.

If its set to boot from a DVD then it'll check your DVD drive before loading the OS so if it doesn't find a bootable dvd it'll move on.

Try putting the proper disk you got with your laptop in and see if it loads it, might of not burned it properly.

Also at the start when your comp loads you need to load bios to change the boot order, when comp starts its usually something like f2/f12/del to load setup/bios then it'll be in there.

If you selected cd/dvd then you maybe didnt burn the disk properly. To make it bootable you need to burn the ISO to a boot image not not just copy it onto the disk.
