View Full Version : Has call of duty effected your life?
Yes, as silly as it may sound it has effected my whole life. I get in from school and play on it straight from 4pm - 12am (8 hours), all my real life/online friends do the same (my real life friends ain't no geeks either!). Then when I do want to go out I can't because nobody is out! They are all playing cod. Please feel free to laugh at me but I didn't even go out on friday, not because there was nobody to go out with but because I wanted to play cod lol. Also, everybody talks about cod 24/7 at school. Facebook for me has died because all my friends are too busy bashing cod, most of the time I am doing the same anyway so sack facebook. My parents have noticed that I'm always up in my room playing cod and if I am downstairs putting a pizza in or something I am always rushing because it's between a match (intermission).
I'm not complaining though, COD6 <3. :)

Lol.. I might play it for a couple of hours if I get in from uni during the day.. or an hour or so before my brother goes to bed. But the 360 is in his room so I kind of get out of his way when he comes in from school and stuff. I'd say he's the same as you in fact, he has loads of his mates on it too and is constantly shouting down the mic :P.
I hardly have any mates with 360s (not on my list anyway). The few people I know who have MW2 have it on PS3. Tbh, I'd rather play it on 360 by myself rather than put up with it on PS3 just to play with mates now and again. I can find people on here to play with anyway if I really want. Might be trading in my PS3 and getting another 360 as well.
On the other hand, I only started playing COD4 a couple of months ago and I was on that every chance I got! :D

Yes, because I now earn money from posting videos of it. Plus I've made some really good friends from playing the series.
I don't really feel the game itself effects my life at all, I play my xbox alot but that's mostly due to lack of things to do, my girlfriend has college just about everyday, two of my friends also do college, one recently moved to Birmingham, one works night shifts so he's asleep most days, so really I'm not left with much option, I generally try to get out when I can is quite often on weekends and I go out most friday nights.

Playing it 8 hours straight really isn't good for you. I play it for maybe 2 hours max a day even then I doubt that. Normally don't play it during the school week but I do on weekends sometimes.

Actually saying that it depends on how old you are. If your doing AS/A Levels or your final year of GCSE's then playing that much is going to ruin your revision and intern your exams which is a stupid thing to do. I doubt your doing A Levels though because if you are then you won't hhave 8 hours to use to play COD as you'll have too much work. You'll probably get bored of it though, if i'm honest I am already hence why I don't play it much.

I play about 1-2 hours most days,

the first week it did. I played it in my free lessons, after school and all weekend.
now it's an ok game, and finding myself drifting from it. I wasn't to active on my xbox for a few months before mw2 so kinda hard to get back, especially when it's only an ok game. will be playing AC2 and any others I get, but i would rather focus on a-levels. last week I was lucky because I didn't have any work due in, but I didn't do a media essay due monday, so now i'm changing my priorities.
oh, and if you used to go out but don't now because mw2, then that is proper sad. it's a game.
I played cod4 a lot due to being in year 10. all depends on where you are at school I think.

Instead of all hanging out on royton park every night we have all moved to COD, it's not as if we are all hiding away in our rooms playing cod 24/7. Well it is but we all have mics so our conversations are still funny and are no different to the conversations we would have outside.

Nah It's literally all of my year then I bet the other years bum it too. In the week or so that it has been out I have become mates with loads more of my year. Like if my mate invites me to a match its usually going to be full of all our lads that I don't really speak to, that soon changes so yh its pretty good now loads more mates at school. ;)
But to be fair though, since Cod6 was released the weather has been constant rain and wind, if it had been a bit sunny then most of us wouldn't be playing cod half as much.

Since MW1 and my mate edging me to join him, I've enlsited into the army...does that count? lol.
