What would be an ideal monthly cost for Charity VIP?

I am thinking, considering the limited supply of VIP and the fact that it is for charity would £2 a month be acceptable with the community (maybe £1.50 if bought via SMS) or should we stick to the usual price plan. Would be great if we could raise a lot of money this year especially for our troops.

i think the prices should stay the same.

I think the fact it's for charity, £2 would be a reasonable figure. Having it cheaper via SMS isn't really fair on people who can't buy it by that method so the price should be the same for all methods imo

Jin

You could argue that but you can also say that it was unfair that sms cost has always been priced higher than paypal due to costs claimed by operators and whatnot.

I'd keep it the same price... people would buy more and you would end up earning more money

Stay the same.

I don't have a job, and putting the price up would really put me off buying any at all. Sorry. :(

What is it normally?

Jin

Normally £1.50

50p is hardly a big difference, i mean i;d rather pay the round figure of 2. But obviously some people are at school and dont come across much money, so i tihnk it should be a minimum of 1.50 and optional to donate higher.

it would be a big difference if people bought multiple months of vip though.

I would just leave it at £1.50. A lot of people might buy more than one month, so if they really want to donate lot's then that's the way to do it. If texting, I expect it will charge standard network rate as well, so I feel if there is going to be a small charge on top as well £2.00 may be a little steep for some people.

Tbh i wanna say £1, it sounds negligable but soon adds up pretty quickly. Idk why but £1.50 sounds far more substantial.

I think the prices should remain the same, and a voluntary additonal amount can be added if they want.

jackass

Via SMS...

£1.50 for 1 month
£4.00 for 3 months
£7.50 for 6 months

Maybe? :)

stick at the current pricing, with the option of multiple months through paypal.

so youve decided on the charity, and that SMS will be back, what about colours? :)

Jin
18-11-2009, 09:12 PM
Same colour (christmas VIP) and I will user the stats to calculate the % of donates per charity.

SMS will use a formed based system, upon payment your web browser automagically forwards to our sms gateway where and you can select who your buying for and what charity you have chosen.

After the charity period sms will be available for donators and rather than charity we will have the various colour options.

I would rather buy two months VIP for £2 rather than one months for £2. Promotion of it just needs to be better really, before VIP was avaliable all year around but this time it isnt so we could make more of a big thing out of it.

dirrty
18-11-2009, 09:21 PM
when would vip become available btw?

Why did you think I set that gfx task :P.

There is no set date I want to roll out a few other things at the same time and as a result forum will go offline for sometime because the community is too observant for me to roll out something on a live board :P.

VIP+ should be an option :)

Hmm would it not be possible to do plans as we would love to have yearly VIP.

So this is what I propose so you can raise alot of money for charity, and also make money.

Christmas VIP with the different colour name for one month only. After that it will be a normal member colour with the VIP features.
£2 for a months VIP
£x for 3 months VIP
£x for 6 months VIP
£x for a year's VIP

And then normal Donor which allows you to get name colours.

This is because many people would like to have the VIP feature, but if they buy a years worth at one go, they are less likely to buy donor, meaning habbox doesnt get as much money. So making them buy donor for a colour name (which they are doing now) will still happen :) as after the first month of charity VIP, they will have a normal name colour.

i have 2 questions,
first off how much is £1 in $ (In Canadian dollars/American, Canadian would be better) i could google that but im just lazy and have to get off soon
and second of all with VIP does it give you rep? i was never too sure about it like do u get 100 rep points or something? i was always confused about it

-:Undertaker:-
19-11-2009, 03:35 AM
..people say 50p isn't really a big difference, well no it isn't. However if people want to donate an extra 50p to charity that should be optional, otherwise we could keep going up every year 50p by £1.00 and so on.

Alkaz
19-11-2009, 07:42 AM
For every month vip you should get 15rep points.

Reputation shouldn't be given with VIP, it's just stupid.

Teknequez
19-11-2009, 05:34 PM
I think it should stay as 1.50
Loads of people are going to buy it if VIP will only be yearly.

20-11-2009, 12:59 AM
This is going to be ridiculously expensive for me (or other international users), if i do buy VIP. And since all the charities are nothing important to me (aged, hunger, poverty, animals, environment etc). I dunno if it is really worth it just to support these people =\

Arch
20-11-2009, 01:03 AM
Why would it be expensive for you, i live in Canada so i guess that makes me international but why is it gonna me more for us ?

Blinger1
20-11-2009, 01:05 AM
because of the exchange rate.. It isn't crash hot ;)

20-11-2009, 01:36 AM
If you pay through paypal it shouldn't be too much..

Blinger1
20-11-2009, 02:05 AM

I'm pretty sure you can pay in Australian dollars.

Because of that, if paypal gets cheaper with the more you buy, eg £2 for one month, £3 for two months. Then SMS should be cheaper in the first place so it works out kind of fair? :P

Black_Apalachi
21-11-2009, 04:19 AM
I think £2 is a good price for charity. I don't know about making it different for SMS vs PayPal though, I guess it wouldn't really make a difference to me anyway.

What about; £2 per month, or in bulk, 6 months for £10? :)

Ajthedragon
21-11-2009, 03:27 PM
I always thought it was a bit much, keep the old prices. If I wanted 12 months it would be £24 for £2 a month. :(

jackass
21-11-2009, 03:41 PM
Seriously, keep the old prices, paying £2 per MONTH via SMS is just harsh. :P

I think it should be (again)...

£1.50 - 1 month
£4.00 - 3 months
£7.50 - 6 months

leah
21-11-2009, 03:48 PM
Yeah I think the prices should stay the same too, christmas VIP is always popular, and it would be even more popular seeing as VIP was disabled this year.

15 rep per month used to be anyway.

--

I think as much as I would LIKE there to be discounts on bulkbuys, that would seem more like we are selling it, than doing it for Charity imo.

£1.50 a month is a good price, and maybe there could be VIP+!!! xD £3 for VIP+ say?

I will not buy any less due to that, just more money for Charity,

Arch
22-11-2009, 04:20 PM
Well even if there are discounts its still going to charity so i dont see the difference lmao :P
