These seem to be the best networks, but which is the best one from your experiences?

I have no experience of Orange as I've always been with O2 and I would vote for them as they have been a great network for a good 8 years or so.

Been with O2 and Orange, Orange I must say are a pretty good network and their customer service is pretty top notch. First call with O2 I had was like talking to a special needs kid on the other line. However I only transferred from Orange to O2 for an iPhone so hm... Better 3G signal with Orange, but I'd say better overall signal (marginally) with O2. It's best to check what is strongest in your area cuz for all you know you might go for T-mobile.
Though the fact you've singled out them two specifically, both the only iPhone suppliers, then I'm guessing thats what you would want. And if that is indeed the case, I'd reccomend O2 simply because the data isn't capped to 750MB, and you pay just about the same per month really.

I have to say, in all my years with O2, the last call I had from them was the only time I could ever question their customer service. And that is only because she repeated the same questions off of her script as if I hadn't just answered them. (That happened to be the first English person I've spoken to as well, they've always been Scottish in the past :D).

was with o2 for 4 years, moved to orange this month as I got a new contract with them.
o2 - been with them for soo long ive never had a coverage problem. I had good reception everywhere I went. Though underground car parks didnt really work for me but eh?
And at work we have a basement for where our stock is kept I never got reception in there on o2. But everthing else from rewards to customer services was brilliant with o2.
orange - i get a nice amount of minutes and unlimited texts etc. Get 1 magic number is ideal for me as my gf is on orange too. Coverage is the opposite to o2.. great for basements and car parks underground but I get the odd "EMEGERGENCY CALLS ONLY" at random times. But it is easily resolved by turning the network off and then back in my blackberry settings and its working fine again.
Hence why I voted for equally as good.

Everyone seem's to hate on o2's customer service, it baffles me why as in the years ive been with o2 ive only called them up around 5 times and each of those times I was greeted by a friendly british call center worker.
Oh and i'm hoping to go to Goldsmith's uni next year which is within walking distance from the o2 arena so I'm looking forward to my o2 priority being used alot :D

Been with o2 forever, never had a problem with them or their customer service (in fact them, ebuyer and play.com are my fave companies for cusomter service (L)). All my friends (all 3 of them :P) are on Orange and they've never had a problem with the network but they've never had to use customer service so I can't vouch for that!
In the end it comes down to pricing, in my experience as long as you're within a light year of a built up area the difference in coverage is marginal between the big 5 networks in the UK and customer service is always going to be hit or miss depending on who you get. Its not like america, aparently in san francisco on AT&T (the network the iphone is on) you're fortunate if you get through a call without it disconnecting. So yeah go for the prices :)

Orange, o2 never helped me when I needed it. No signal in almost my entire town.

Orange FTW!
Orange Wednesdays, good signal, bright top ups, phone fund, reserve tank, free internet, free texts, no roaming charges etc. etc. ;)

Yeah exactly, they've always been great! They are also the only company who have ever phoned me to offer me something cheaper without me asking.
