Absolutely devastated. Bring on a lovely big fat insurance premium when I get a new car :/
Seen another Mini on AutoTrader near me, it's a bit newer than mine and I'd say is in better nick overall, for 1450... if I had the money I'd be really tempted... :P

PICS OR IT DIDUNT HAPPENZ
if it was a mini clubland you totalled your a hero, if it was a mini classic your harsh. if it was just a mini cooper idrc LOL.
how did you crash it, plssss be something really funny that didn't consider you hurting yourself in anyway. like avoiding an old woman then hitting a post box where another old woman was.

If it was a mini classic he totalled, maybe a gust of wind came and flipped him several times?

Even if I was steady enough to think of taking pics, I only had my phone which has a rubbish camera.

I'm harsh, it was an '86 Austin Mini Mayfair. Basically, I clipped the end of the kerb coming onto an off ramp from the motorway and that threw me into the barrier which I slid along the side of for about 50 yards before coming to a halt.
I've got my eye on that one in the link, but can't tell if it's one of the Cooper-style ones or just a classic with fat wheel arches stuck on...

it was just the clutch master cylinder and got it fixed ages ago. just spent about 500 quid on it the other week though because the radiator leaked and it overheated and everything was ******.

Yeah, I still need to find out where the recovery took it to, and tell the insurance. I'm almost certain it'll be a write off so I can't not get them involved!
if the value of the car is less than the excess or only about £100 more, there's no point telling them because you'll only get £100 or so, but your insurance will go up £200. :(

Firstly, I would say it's worth about 1500. I paid about 1700 (before I knew anything about Minis and it was my first car and I was on my own AND the seller was asking almost 2000! :P).
My excess is £150 I think... pretty small compared to the value anyway.
And my insurance was already just over a grand per year.
Soooooo it depends how they value the car. Its value comes from the fact it's a classic car, so if they value it based on what it is under the shell, then I don't have much hope :(.
