Hi, I'm running Windows 7. I want to be able to press a button on one application/program and then type something into notepad WITHOUT having to click into note pad.

I have the notepad on one side of the screen and the program on the other. Basically, I press a button in the program, it gives me a number, then I type it into notepad... and keep doing it. At the moment, I'm having to press the button, click on the notepad window, type the number then go back to the prog... I want to be able to just press the button then press the number and it goes into notepad.

I know I've explained it twice, I usually do... and I know this sounds lazy, but with the amount of data I'm gonna be typing it'll save me time...

Thanks.

You could just leave mouse on the button, alt tab to notepad type it.

So like

Click > alt tab > type numbers > click > alt tab > type numbers etc

Hey, thanks for your reply. Alt tab just shows the different windows open and I can switch between them.

I have the notepad snapped to one side and the program at one side, so I only have to move the mouse onto the notepad area and click, but I'd rather just press the button then type the number.

Thanks though.
