They mean something in some lessons, if you fail you'll be put into lower, if you do well you'll be put into higher for main.
Just fall asleep in r.e and say god came to you in your dreams and told you science rules.

They don't mean much really. Like the post above said you can be put into Higher. In my mocks I got a D in Spanish, a C in Chemistry, a C in English along with other things but in the real thing I got 1% off an A* in Spanish, an A in Chemistry, and an A* in English. As long as you work hard then the mocks won't mean much.

I laugh at myself for the days I was worried about mocks :P.

but the thing is they send off the mock results to the colleges/6th forms you apply to and then from that they decide to accept your application or not.

Did my mocks this week, had my last one today.
They're what you submit to colleges unless you've done some in modules already (Maths and Science for me).
I've also done English early so there was only History to work for really :P

wth? why would they send mock results to colleges. they're called mocks for a reason, just to show you what the exams are like. so it doesnt matter if you get an a* in the real one because you got an F in the mock which means you're ******?
My mocks just started as well.
We were told they're important because we'll have to choose our AS subjects based on the grades we get in these mocks. :(

My mocks start on the 7th I believe. I only have 1 exam on the 11th (Friday) as 2/3 of my subjects are 90% coursework. The exam I am sitting is Politics.

GCSE mocks aren't as important as AS and A2 mocks. I've got my AS mocks next month and if we like FAIL them i'm sure they wouldn't just ignore it. Mocks obviously aren't as important as real exams but they are still important.

And yes they are if you're applying to a competitive sixth form then you get in on your mock results so mine are important.
