Please close this if this is old news. But I have only found this to be the case as of today.
When you achieve an achievement a seperate box now pops up in the central of the screens showing the badge and the reason for the achievement being achieved as well as the small box in the top right.
Closed the box when I should have screen-shotted, apologises.
