Hello guys. Don't post here that much but...
In January I have an A level ICT exam. Now, usually I'd be confident about this as I'm quite good at ICT I think... but, the January exam is based on access and creating advanced databases for a specified scenario (apparently this year it's make a database for mobile phone tariffs).
Now, it's not like I've never used Access, but I am really quite clueless to the scale of project that we are doing. We've been doing some examples in class, and I really don't get how to make them as they are. I'm fine with importing the data into tables, setting up one to many relationships and setting up primary keys and all that, but then it comes to making the actual database interface and I just don't know what to do. For the last example we had to do, we had to base it on a system for a theme park registering customers to their websites to book rides and generate theme park type debit cards where they can buy and use their points to book rides. This involved forms for stuff like the sign on screen, the register screen, card number generator, booking ride screen, then there was all different queries for adding customers to the database, allocating them points, making them a card number, looking up rides, booking rides.... and I just don't have a clue.
I think I'm fine with making the forms, but when it comes down to queries, I just really don't know what sort of stuff I should be putting.
Sorry if it's a lot of text to read, or if it's a bit... too plain to get a good idea of what I'm asking, but do any of you know a good deal about queries, or a good place to learn about them? I've tried looking around and can't really find anything good.
