View Full Version : Question about working out
I was just curious say you do as many sit ups as you can untill u can no longer do them anymore cuz it hurts/u cant move, and did as many push ups as u could untill u couldnt push yourself up anymore
and u did this like every other day
would you see results after awhile or would it just be pointless

Pretty pointless as it would take for like for ever to recover from it. Best to do several at a time each day, just enough untill you start to feel the burn. Gradually increase it to two times a day, every other day etc. Muscle gain is a slow process, you cant rush it.

You wouldnt necessarily see massive results from that, but it would get your muscles in shape. It's far better to have a routine though. Just do so many reps and sets each day, then take a rest day. If you can feel it the morning after though, i'd say its working.

Abs on Monday Wednesday Friday would be a good idea. 3 sets of reps until failure. Eat well or it'll be pointless :)
alright thx, it wasnt exaclty that im gonna do this but it was a question asked in my health class and we needed to do a little write up about it :P

Oh right well if you need any more detail for the write up then just ask. For instance, you never work out on consecutive days as this will cause over training, and only work out your abs a maximum of 3 times per week or this too will cause over training - stuff like that.

What is your primary goal..?
higher muscle:fat ratio?
Yeah i guess the goal would be to work out and get more muscle doing this, and to see if this is the fastest way or if its not effective.

If the goal is to get a six pack then you need to do more cardio to lose a bit of fat over the abs, work out your abs to make the muscles bigger and east correctly to support the changes. You could also say that working out just your bas is stupid because having a six pack and then the rest of your body being small is stupid in my opinion
Alright thx for the help guys
ive rep'd you if i can :)
sit-ups every 3 days or so you may see results espically if you eat correctly and burn off excess fat
if you do just push-ups alone, probably not many results
