who you got?
we've got pompey at home and i'm not expecting even a point
injured: gordon, mccartney (he needs some ******* new legs), ferdinand, mensah, zenden, cattermole
suspended: richardson, bardsley
only got 3 fit defenders: turner, da silva, nosworthy (****e)
Anyway, apparently he's putting ******* murphy center mid! MURPHY. I'd rather he played ******* marton fulop in center mid to be quite honest. Why can't be play some of the youth? I mean yeah he's bringing in a few of them on the bench cause they've impressed him, but why not bring them into the team!

Liverpool. They have Babel out. We have: V.Persie, Eduardo, Bendtner, Rosicky, Diaby, Gibbs, Clichy, Djourou and Eboue out so I'm not expecting us to do amazingly well but I still think we can win and with Liverpools bad form maybe win 2-0 or 2-1.

Babel, Riera and Kelly are the list currently actually and the list will no doubt grow by sunday, as per our luck this season. Who knows if Torres will start, if he does I think we have a very good chance of winning. If not, well it depends on the rest of the team selection. I hope Aquilani plays, but i'm not holding my breath because frankly it's impossible to tell nowadays. Apparently Liverpool are the favourites to win this (most likely due to Arsenals injuries and the fact we may have Torres back) but i'm still very nervous. If Torres plays, Liverpool to win 2-1, if he's not playing then 1-0 maybe.

Never heard of Kelly to be honest and he wouldn't even be on the bench for you if he was fit. Riera, fair enough. I thought he was fit as he played for you last weekend I think but I must be wrong. Babel I already said but won't be a big loss anyway. You might win and I wouldn't bet against it but then again if Arshavin is on form like he was against Stoke and converts a bit more, then we can easily slot a few past you but same goes for Torres.

Let's see
Reina
Johnson
Gallas
Carragher
Clichy
Arshavin
Gerrard
Fabregas
Walcott
Van Persie
Torres
6-5 to Arsenal. I know they're not all fit and what have you but that's how I work these things out.
Tash.

Now we have the defence fit again, no he wouldn't but he's a natural replacement for Johnson and he did well in that role for us. Riera I aren't sure whats wrong with him, I just read on the team website that he was out. Arshavin if he is in the same vein of form as he was when he put 4 past us last season scares me, sure our defence wasn't working well that day but he was unstoppable. I just think Arsenal are weak in defence on the best of days, so with players out that only means one thing. Especially if Torres is fit.

Wycombe at home. With the small run we've been on, this is the type of game that'll probably be a banana skin and send us back into a downward spiral.

It's only Gallas that lets our defence down, well and Almunia if you can count him. Gallas on his day can be good but he doesn't have these days often.
And thyflux. I'd have put Vermaelen instead of Carragher, or at least swapped him for Gallas. Oh and I'd have put Nasri there instead of Walcott but yeah I do that sometimes too.

Fully fit Walcott >>> Nasri.
Nasri is fantastic on his day but when Walcott is on form... unstoppable. I think Gallas is getting better, believe it or not, but either way - 6-5 to Arsenal.

he's gone because he was on high wages and injury prone, hasn't really played for clough so he isn't featuring in his plans. we weren't going to extend his contract so it's only fair that we'd let him go now really.

Hm lol. 2-1. I think Liverpool played well and we did in the 2nd half. Almunia needs to go. None of the penaltys were penaltys before anyone says so. Johnson didn't dive so no penalty, good for him. Torres just ran into traffic and was outside the box anyway. Gerrard hit the ball out of play anyway although that one was debatable. Only 1 from Arshavin but it'll do :D
Black_Apalachi
13-12-2009, 06:40 PM
I AM SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETHING :P
THAT'S why Gerrard gets accused of diving, cos when he doesn't he doesn't get the penalty. There were 7 or 8 fouls on him today with no free kick given.
I agree CHA!N that there probably wasn't any pens but the Gerrard one was debatable and should have at least been a corner cos it came off Galas. It was a foul anyway regardless of where the ball is.
I don't usually pay attention to referees individually but that Howard Webb is a bit sketchy. He was dishing out the cards way too much, I thought Arshavin's was harsh for instance yet there were loads of free kicks (some for Arsenal as well) that he didn't give.
The way we lost that pretty much sums up our season. Rafa isn't to blame, I agreed with his subs today. Didn't play terribly but also didn't get the rub of the green. It's worth it though to see the state of Fergie yesterday when there was "only" three minutes added hahaha :P.

I'm pretty mad if i'm honest. Debatable penalty with Gerrard, and if not then where was the corner? Gallas definitely either fouled him or touched that ball yet neither was given. As Sergio said, Webb was too quick to go to the cards and he missed several free kicks for both teams. I'm disappointed because we played well and yet again it ended this way, 2-1. Benitez shouldn't be blamed, he did everything correctly for once today and I just think we were dreadfully unlucky. Imo considering both halves it deserved to be a draw.

But us Cardiff fans are pessimistic. We're not that good a team, we can beat the big teams but we're ****** against the smaller ones who want it more and chuck 5 across the middle against the world's worst central midfielders.
I dont think cardiff will go up, they always mess up near the end.

EDIT: Just remembered that Masc came off for Aquilani :P My bad.
As for the penalty, your missing why it wasn't a penalty. Not because he thought Gallas got a touch, it was because he (the ref) thought Gerrard played the ball too far ahead of him to get it, so even if Gallas didn't touch him, Gerrard was never getting to the ball in the first place.
Yes Liverpool were a bit unlucky but these things happen. But I agree, not rafas fault. Arsene Wenger apparently gave a good half time team talk which inspired the players, so if anything it was his team talk that did it.

He arguably could have got to that though. I remember seeing it but I can't remember it all properly but I'm sure I remember that it wasn't too far ahead of him. Gerrard wasn't going anywhere. Plus, it's down to the ref at the time.

Like Andy Gray said, it doesn't matter where the ball is, a foul is a foul. One of the few times I agree with him there mind you. He brought him down which is a foul whether it's on the ball or not (in fact an off the ball foul is even worse :P).
