Who is buying?
I'm hoping they'll release a collectors edition over here but Squenix don't really give a damn about Europe seeing as all their games get release 1-2 years after the NA/JP release.
I am :D When is it out? Last week I was searching everywhere for the release date got nothing :(

They're STILL making these games? I thought all the fans hated them since 7.

That sucks, I wish they had some kickass metal like Underworld in FFX.
Isnt XIV an MMORPG. I usually pass the FF MMO's because I see no interest in them and IMO its Square selling out. Why label an MMO as part of the main franchise ;/

So you're not going to buy the game just because Leona Lewis is singing a theme song for it? What an amazing reason to not purchase a game.

I was going to create a new thread but this one is only on the second page.
The game has been praised in Japan and received 39/40 from Famitsu. Some European sites have imported it and also praised the game.

To be fair, she didn't do a bad job with Avatar!! :D
If I said I wanted to give Final Fantasy a go, would you tell me to just start at the beginning or is there any one of them that is particularly amazing?

The first one was originally on NES but most are available on PS1 remakes.
The best in my opinion is 6 but most people say 7/8 are the best.
In my opinion first is 6 then 10 then 7. Each game has a different storyline so you dont need to play them all to get a certain one.

Well, it's down to opinion. I think IX is the best. Many people think VII is the best, but it's pretty boring to me. Thought I think it's agreeable that X is amazing by almost everyone.

XII wasn't amazingly bad... just a little. At least, I was entertained by the father son relationship between Balthier and Dr Cid... those characters were awesome.

i didnt like it :(
and the english was too hard lol
well, it did use a lot of old sounding english. not as 'hip' or whatever as 7, 8 or 10, which are meant to be modern day/futuristic. 12 is weird though, the characters look and sound medieval or something but the world is futuristic.

Are they even very different? I mean I don't see how 14 games or whatever it is from the same series can have that much variance...
They're all completely different in the setting, the world, the technology, characters, etc, but they all follow the same basic story: saving the world from something. Apart from that, they're not really similar at all.

X in my opinion is up there with the greats of the Final Fantasy series. It has such great and likeable characters such as Wakka ;)
The only character I can truly say I didn't like was Kimhari.
Nobuo Uematsu outdid himself with the OST again, this is my favourite track of X.
It will give you a feel of the tropical side of the game - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McjTN-i2R2Y

I preferred VII, then VIII then IX. I'm sure I have X and X-2 chucking around, but don't remember them anything like the former's.
Definitly preferred VII, or thats the way I remember it now. Not being so old when I played VII and VIII means I'm not quite sure. Quite liked the chocobo breading and what not on VII, and the cards on VIII.
Kinda O/T but an FF point, my uncle heard on VII if you maxxed your account, max xp max money Aeris would revive. He actually got a fair chunk of the way to trying that, even though its most probably not going to happen.
And a nice VIII glitch (I've never tried), instead of killing a single monster turn them into cards. The monsters level with you, with your advantage being in AP (Action Points), so theoretically you could finish the game at level 1.
