Anyone else had this experience when driving a car?

I came out of Tescos which has two lanes; left only and straight ahead. I was following a cyclist on the left only to go left only, no rocket science there :P

So, we both pulled out as it was clear, and so did the car behind as it was clear for him. The plan in my head was to overtake the cyclist on the bypass, but before that happened we (myself and my mum) noticed the cyclist moving infront of us. It was too late to do a safe emergency stop so I accelerated and drove infront of him before we got knocked in the back or on the side by a driver in the straight ahead only lane.

The arse put his finger up :@

So, anyone else had issues like this with cyclists? The Highway Code strictly states that you should follow the same rules and signs on the road as vehicle drivers (afterall, it's the Highway Code, not the motor vehicle driver code :P), and if you do change direction, you must put your arm out as to not confuse other road users.

Discuss, why some cyclists deserve to be hit for not following the rules.

They shouldn't be allowed on the roads its as simple as that. (although I know you do like the young cyclists in their spandex shorts)

What did the cyclist do wrong? Got against the lane direction?

I've never had any trouble with any myself but I remember once when my dad was driving, we started to pull away from a green light and this cyclist came across from the left so he had either gone through a red or very late amber. My dad stopped right beside him (he would have been t-boned if we didn't stop) and he stopped and banged on our bonnet :S.

Tbh do they pay road tax? NO.

I ******* hate cyclists. Honestly, buy a ******* car and drive it. GRRRRR, around here they think they own the road and most of them are either tree huggers or douche bags. They don't use the side of the road, they use the middle, like an idiot. I was stuck behind one time for 6 MILES after I left the Long Island Expressway (I-495). I couldn't pass because of road construction and he made no attempt to let me pass either. I wanted to run him down.

Oh actually chavs on bikes do my head in. Funny story kind of related to this: when I first went out in my Mini at night I thought the main beams weren't working and we were driving along and some chavs on bikes went across the road and my mate went to beep the horn and accidentally found out how to turn the headlights on for me LMAO.

Lol, try living in Devon and driving everyone is like *+* RIDES THEIR BIKES ON NARROW BUT MAIN ROADS*+* it's bloody annoying cuz u have to wait for ages to overtake... cuz the road is so god damn busy and narrow.

that's why you get roads instead of lanes :P

we have one main road going into the biggest place close to us, which is actually a market down, that sums devon up right there. the road is fast, unless farm vehicles on road, narrow and busy. but it is right alongside fields which i guess is hot and something you under privileged city kids wouldn't know about

He didn't follow the lane arrows at all, and came across infront of me instead of going down the same road as me (first exit of the roundabout). So I cut him up to save hitting him or having the person hitting me behind/beside me. What a pillock :P

Essex is filled with fields Jake dear :P
