Buying a Digital Camera.. Suggestions on which? [+Rep]

So I've got about 170$ laying around in paypal and I decided I'm going to buy a digital camera off ebay with it as an early christmas present (also I broke mine like a month ago, and I really could use another!).

Anyone have some suggestions on a good one to get within the 170$ price range? I don't need anything super amazing, it's just for my personal use with friends and such.

Any thoughts at all? After looking around, I'm thinking about getting a Canon PowerShot A1100 IS. Or else I may end up getting another Nikon Coolpix (which is what I had before, though it was kinda lousy..)

Kodak and Fujifilm are good camera makes and are quite popular buys as well.

Most cameras nowadays have the same features on each camera (face detection, anti-shake etc)

Megapixels don't really matter (only matter if you wanna print off your photos - bigger megapixel, bigger picture).

The camera I have is the Kodak M340 (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=kodak+m340&x=12&y=12). The good think about Kodak is it has different modes on it like Action, Self Portrait, Landscape and that.

One big suggestion is to wait till after Xmas as I think prices may drop a bit lower than just now ;)

My photo counter training actually coming in handy for a change :P

I got a new Canon SX20 a few weeks ago, shoots HD video, amazing picture quality at 12 MP.. I don't know how much it cost..

Hmm, I actually didn't even consider kodak or fujifilm (my family has always mainly seemed to by canon or nikon so I have a bias towards getting those). I'll take a look into it, and you're actually totally right, I probably will wait and buy it right after christmas lol. :)

Oooh that one looks AMAZING, but unfortunately its a little upwards of 300$. :(
