Today Jenn and I took off for Canada to pick up my brother and she shared some life changing news that turned out to be nothing but she felt the needed to tell me.
We were talking about the future and how we will be going to school and stuff next year and how we need to find a house and start getting stuff in order soon.. then we got on something else that resulted in me saying something like "can you imagine raising a kid right now".. and she went quiet for a bit and she asked me what would happen if she got pregnant.. and I was like Jennifer what are you implying and then she reminded me of the time we went to her friends Halloween party and well.. protection was not used and well something came out.. inside if you know what I mean..
I don't know how periods and stuff work but Jenn said she was expecting her period the next week.. and it didn't come.. next week.. no period.. and she thought she was pregnant because of that night and because she was two weeks late. She didn't want to take a pregnancy test without me knowing first, but she didn't want to tell me because she didn't know what my reaction would be... but then 3 weeks after her period should have started, she got cramps and that was the end of the scare.
Then she was like.. honestly, can you see us with a kid.. I completely agree but if it happens it happens.. all I can say is from now on even though Jenn is back on the pill.. CONDOMS 2 PREVENT LIFE.

TO CLARIFY THIS INCASE SOME OF YOU DON'T KNOW THE BASICS OF PREGNANCY:
If a girl gets pregnant her period stops until the baby is born, if she gets her period then she isn't pregnant!

If you do it'd be a miscarriage... you can bleed down there but not have periods.

Sigh, it is impossible for menstruation to occur whilst a woman is pregnant. Yes, she can have period-like bleeding but she cannot have an actual period.

True.

If Jenn is pregnant we're going to have a FAS baby because over the holidays Jenn has gotten drunk and passed out TWICE. I also think the pill would do something to the fetus..

When the blastocyst embeds into the uterus lining there can be cramps and a there can be very light bleeding. While on the pill you can carry on have a monthly bleed. However, it isn't a propper menstruation.
A menstruation is when an unfertilized oocyte is removed from the utereus. A blastocyst stops oocytes from maturing and being released..
Sorry to turn all geeky D:

What's amusing me is you were one of the ones mocking me about being concerned about the heat condoms get exposed to in hot summer weather, when they're supposed to be in room temperature not 40 degrees outside...

Sounds more like an early miscarriage to me rather than cramps.
Here's hoping you get no more scares.
And perhaps you should learn how periods work- there are times when women are most fertile- AVOID that time (and still use protection when it's not that time), for a bit of added protection.

Ooh that was lucky.
You don't get too many chances with things like that though so make sure you are safe in the future!

Heaps of people manage to 'stick to that plan' until they're old enough and responsible enough to face the consequences of having sex if there's an accident. I really don't like this assumption that everyone needs to have sex all the time- they don't.
Don't have sex until you feel ready- and that includes ready for consequences, be it having kids, giving birth and adopting out, abortion, telling your parents and them being ashamed of you, mental stress from it, etc, not just 'ready' in terms of urges and love.

That sounds fair enough to me. Very responsible and sensible.
