Well I accidently spoiled the film for myself yesterday (**** you wikipedia!), but I'm still really looking forward to it. Empire did an article on it in the latest issue and they touched upon the process of creating a post-apocalyptic world and everything seemed so raw and real. So example, instead of using special effects to show trees smashing down to the floor, they would cut down the huge trees themselves. Even in the trailer you get that raw feeling.

Empire also spoke with the director about how the trailers have been misleading. The producers aparrently marketed the movie has some kind of action blockbuster, which it isn't. It seems more of a drama, which I'm glad about because Viggo Mortensen is an outstanding actor and I always love seeing him in these kind of dramatic, tough roles. Can't wait!

Is Viggo Mortensen, Aragorn from LOTR?? Cool! This looks like a decent version of 2012. I'm looking forward to it now :).

Yes, he is. But please, please, please do not compare The Road to 2012. :(

Haha, I just mean it's a disaster movie, similar to 2012 but done a lot better.

Well I wouldn't really call it a disaster movie since most of it takes place after the events. It's a post-apocalyptic drama/thriller. Nevertheless I see what you're getting at. :P

The Road isn't even showing at my local cinema and the current weather conditions make it almost impossible to travel anywhere else to see it... what a joke.

Finally saw it. First time I ever cried in the cinema, even though it was only a tear. Viggo's performance was absolutely stunning and I think I would now consider him my favourite actor. I was moved. I thought the film concluded a little too fast, but other than that I have no complaints. Loved it.
