Yeppp. I live in Manchester too. I went to the post office at 3:30ish. At 4 it wasnt snowing. Looked out at 4:30 and there was snow everywhere! It layed! Someone told me it snowed ALOT in that 30 minutes.

It didn't. I just posted that as the amount of snow we got yesterday which is very unusual at this point of winter.

London came to a standstill in january this year when the snow was a lot thicker and came unexpectedly.

I know how you feel! I'm basically snowed in since I can't get the bus anywhere, and I'm waiting for a couple of parcels to be delivered which of course won't come now. What really annoys me is that the other side of the road got their post delivered, but my side didn't. :S

Yep, and it's slightly annoying, as I am sure you are aware, myself and other people who live in Scotland, NE area, deal with snow like this every year pretty much and we get on with it, daily life, ok, yes some times school buses are cancelled due to them having to make a decision at 6/7AM and that's normally when the drifts, heavy snow is at it's worst. But seriously, you need to grow up down there lol. :P, I mean we walk around in our t-shirts in weather like that up here tbh lol. Well I do, and I know others do.

same lol, it's ridiculous. we went up to aberdeen yesterday and i was expecting the worst because of all the facebook status' but it wasn't even that bad, my friends english flat mate was so excited and shocked by it :/ although it's way nicer down there than up here we have HARDLY anything :(:(

well when you consider that my schools on the top of a hill (scots hill) then one might wonder how cars would get up there, and as the train lines closed (london underground ftw, when infact the line im on is overground) the students who train it to school wouldnt have been able to get in.

Rather than melting all the snow just froze, so all of our redways (don't ask, they're pavements which go everywhere for walkers or cyclists) had bumpy layers of ice on which made it impossible to walk normally without slipping over :@

yeah its cause theres no point investing a lot of money into clearing the roads and coping with the snow because it only comes like once a year.

as a country which experiences a lot of snow and has done for probably thousands of years one would expect them to be prepared and to have worked out a way in which to operate normally by now

we had 5 inches snow last night.

and we made a 7feet tall snowman. i took pictures, reply if you'd like to see.
