I'm pretty excited tbh, when they first came out everyone goes they were bad, and it was on the news about that person who smashed his hand through the window by mistake while playing :P but they look really good and I want a new console. So, I just want to know what everyone, who has one, thinks of them, any downsides? I plan to get the motionplus too, and can you recommend any good games pls?

Thanks :D

I enjoyed my Wii for the first year but eventually got bored of it due to the lack of good games. I still play it occasionally, but I'm not really much of a gamer anymore. I recommend The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart Wii, Excite Truck, The Conduit, New Super Mario Bros and thats about it. Funny how they're all first party titles. Don't waste your time with the third party games. Although some of them are okay.

They've only got a small range of games so its just meh really. I only ever played mine online wit neversoft and that was just 1 game so, not really worth it if you like 'proper' games

I also got bored of mine pretty quickly and Neversoft pretty much covered the best games. To be honest I mainly just played Mario Kart Wii and Wii Sports (Golf) :P. Mario Galaxy was pretty awesome too though and you can also download old Nintendo classics so I played Super Mario 64 a lot too :D. It will be a lot more fun if you have a few mates who also have Wiis and use them regularly so you can play online with them :).

I was gonna get the Wii Sports because they look fun on the television adverts, and a few of my friends have Wii's too, but do you have to pay for a name? Like how on the xbox you have to pay for a gold gamertag, is it the same for the Wii?

Thanks for recommending some games to me, has anyone played any lego games? I've played the batman one on the 360 and it's really fun lol, but hopefully I won't get too bored when I get it, :D

oh yea, just checked on game, the black version looks nice, but the accessories don't all come in black so it would look a bit strange :(
they have 710 games on the site :O

I got bored of my wii pretty quickly but I prefered playing games like wii sports, wii resort etc. Guitar hero was good too but it depends which sort of games you're into.

Wii Sports comes with it and internet play is free :). I played Lego Star Wars, can't remember what console it was on though.. I think it was the Wii. It was a lot of fun but got a bit repetitive. Btw have they released a proper light sabre orientated Star Wars game for the Wii yet?

that's okay then, cause I don't have form of online payment x] I really wanna try out the Indianna Jones 2 Lego game when I get my wii, it's co-op and it just looks like fun, but I agree, the Batman Game does get repetitive, and me and my sis did all the levels in a day and a half, but it was fun. I'm not sure if theres a stars wars game with a light sabre, but it would be pretty cool if there was :D

I'm into any sort of games really, I just don't like playing hard ones by myself cause I can never do them :(

Wii has loads of games, but most of them just suck and like half of them involve mario lolz.

Yeah lol. I think Mario Party is one to avoid. It can be fun but it quickly gets so repetitive and tedious. Paper Mario is interesting but that is pretty repetitive as well. Mario Kart Wii is a must though ;).

The Wii is a board game.

70% of Wii owners have ever played just one game, Wii Sports, and most Wii owners who bought it in 2006 have been inactive after around mid-2007.

It's sad really that it wins so many awards for being the best ''games console'', when it's downright awful.

Yes it has sold many, but that's exactly like saying Transformers is one of the greatest movies of all time. Sales do not justify greatness.

Novelty wears off way too quickly, unless you have a massive amount of friends who will come round most nights. Otherwise, really quick. Hardly any decent games.

Don't get Wii Speak either. Mine broke after 3 days

Mario kart wii is a must have. Never go on wii anymore all about the ps3's/360's atm :)
