Well my mate has a Dell Inspiron 1300 a really old laptop and its surprisingly a nippy wee laptop, never the less the battery seems totally screwed and he said that people put batterys in the freezer and apparently it fix's them from being dead? Is this true?

I have heard that from someone in college, sometimes it does work. It is worth a shot, if it doesn't work then the next step is to buy a new one.

Don't possibly see how it could work though. :S

I can only think that the battery has some charge left in it and the cold reduces resistance for a little while, or that the slowing of the LiOn particles somehow helps :S

Maybe the contracting creates more connections between the ions becase they're forced closer together? Idk my chemistry knowledge is poor, it'd be interesting to read something on how this works

QI / Brainiac? :P Would be interesting to test this, I have a few batteries which hate life so worth a shot.

Well you'd want to be 100% sure it was completely dry before you put it back into the laptop. Sounds a bit risky to me.
