Right so about 2 months ago, i foolishly broke my 50inch Bravia TV with the help of my Nintendo Wii...

We have accidental damage cover in our insurance, our excess is about 250 quid...
So if I make a claim we'll pay 250 excess however the TV will be replaced in the new for old policy offered by my home insurance company?

The TV was bought for £900 about 2-3years ago.
So will I have to provide proof of the price of the television with receipts or anything?
And is it worth claiming seeing as my premium will go up next year.

Thanks +REP

I dont think you need to provide proof of purchase, they can estimate a price. Our pc broke so my dad threw it on the floor and claimed for it, they provided a computer which was worth almost double for free.

If they don't take away the tele, sell it to a friend for £50, my dad's work mates did this and the same TV got passed around 4 people before it was taken away by an insurance company.

The TV isnt even badly broken. Theres a small crack in the bottom left corner. Which isnt visible when the tv screen has a black screen, only visible on white.

Could easily be sold for a few ££.

What about the premium next year?
