lol i'm not staff just a member and i am 100% sure a member who got back from a 1month ban saying "OMG PICK SYKO AS A MOD" had no such influence on somebody who knows what i'm like and has the sense not to listen to me

If staff listen to members and act on their suggestions they should be fired. However, of course it's the members who get punished when the staff are in the wrong. Imagine I go into Tesco and persuade the staff to do what I want without threads or any external force but through the power of speech and they acted on what I said they would be fired.

Dan was recommended by a number of Moderators and had also reported a large number of posts across an extended period of time. After speaking to him personally across a period of about two weeks I also established that he is a very nice person who possess many of the skills and qualities we look for in our Moderators. His application was also of a high standard. He was picked for a number of reasons - none of them, with all due respect to Jake, were as a result of one member requesting it of the Forum Manager. He is a very nice individual who I know will make an excellent Moderator.
