Well iv got quite a bit of muscle but its not defined, Whats the best way to define it?

Yeh it's that simple, lose the body fat hiding the muscle.
With abs for example, most people think you get a 6 pack by doing sit ups. In most cases the 6 pack is already there, just the fat is covering it.

No but like its all muscle showing when i tense and stuff its just not that defined compared to how i thought it would be.

The only way to do it is to bulk up on more muscle and lose more fat.

Swimming is a good way to get toned. Also it's easy.

Eat lots of chicken.
definition = cut - consume less than maintenence
size&mass = bulk - consume over maintenence

What parts of your body are you aiming at defining more? There are some specific things you can do for certain parts of your body..
For example with the six pack, as Smits said most people already have the muscle its just covered by fat.. So the best way to get more defined abs is to do crunches to further build the muscle, and then to do some sort of cardio like jogging to help burn away the layer of fat that is covering your abs.
But in general, you usually should just try to work it out more to build the muscle (and eat properly while you're doing this), and then also try to lose any extra fat that might be hiding it.

Having imbalanced muscles looks stupid and can be dangerous. If you're doing bis, you need to do tris and delts and pecs too.
Lose fat, get to 10% bf max to look ripped, 8% to look ***ripped. Calipers are an OK way to measure your fat. Screw all this less weight more reps. Eat the right food, eat enough of it, do some HIIT with a skipping rope and lift the most you can slowly with good form for 8-10 reps x3 sets.

when you're happy with how much youve "bulked up," then you can start doing a lot of reps with little weight. if youve seen girls weight lift, thats what they usually do, it doesnt make your muscles bigger really but makes them more defined.
but as everyone else said, cardio and eating right are necessary as well.

It doesn't. Girls who do that also diet and exercise, losing body fast meaning muscles appear more defined. It just happens to be an unfortunate correlation and women will believe what they want to believe, just like men.

1.Decrease the amount of weight that you are lifting. When you lift large, heavy weights, your muscles grow as you get stronger. Lifting lighter amounts emphasizes muscle definition over building muscle mass. Write down the new amounts in your notepad so that you do not forget.
2.Increase your number of repetitions. Since you are lifting lighter weights, you will need to increase the number of times that you do each of your exercises. As your muscles gain endurance, they will become more toned and easier to see. As you get stronger you can continue to increase your "reps" and record them in your notebook.

You are bumping old threads with useless comments. You are wrong on everything I have read in your posts. To get more defined muscles lose fat. If you are already skinny then get bigger muscles. Bigger muscles crom from heavy weights with lower repetitions and a lot of food.
Too keep them, you have to have to do a lot of work. Regular exercise and a strict diet.
