View Full Version : better to run songs off a flash or on your acctual hardrive?

What is your opinions do you think it personally keeps your computer running faster if you play music from your flash rather than save all your songs onto your hardrive?

Actual Hard Drive. The USB stick will be taking power from the port and can make it crap for steaming and stuff. I think this is also why people buying external hard drives make sure they have AC power as well as USB/eSATA. I'm probably wrong. :(

Yeah what tom said, I've done both (well all 3 if you count doing it from an external usb hard drive) and all were fine :)

And it's just as good when streaming over network and interwebs these days...

Cheers guys, but surely if you put all the songs on your computer / laptop it will slow it down as its taking up more space?

Nope, only if your hard drive is mega full (like 5GB or less left)
