No Christmas forum this year? I swear there was a Christmas and New Year forum last year..? :S Meh.

Not that I can remember, anyway, there are forums such as "Discuss Anything" which suit the need perfectly :)

Naughty naughty saying other fansites names :( Well anyways, I don't remember anything about a Xmas & New year thread or whatever. Maybe we should get one? It could involve all different sub forums like "What are you getting for christmas" etc. :D

Meree did you have a different account before that one?

Yeah it was my old Habbo name. But i didn't go on it really. I logged on like once or twice and had a look through the forums, thought it was boring and left. Now im back with my new habbo name, so yh.

I think the Discuss Anything forum is a suitable alternative considering there's only 12 hours left to go. Personally, I haven't seen that many christmas threads this year anyway

hah
24-12-2009, 12:19 PM
cause there is no forum

There was one last year but it will be pointless now. The Forum Manager / the department should really have promoted Christmas and started some threads.

but as we all know habboxforum management has gone rapidly down hill apart from Jin whos a legend.

Forum Manager is supposed to keep the forum active too, not just hire/fire moderators and do some edits.

Bit late for this thread isn't it. I'm sure Discuss Anything can handle the Christmas and New Year threads for now, considering its Christmas Eve. Wouldn't it a waste to put the forum in now?

Let's be honest here.

Mostly, users have been saying we have too many forums therefore why would we even consider adding another one?

In this current climate, I think an individual forum would look quite dead and I don't know what forum you've been posting on because I've seen quite a few christmas threads :P

These are just a few i've found searching around, people have been posting about christmas but come on, the above in just one forum?

And I think it's outrageous that forum management are being slated for not promoting Christmas.

Have you not seen Habbox Forum's 12 days of Christmas? Which has been giving away (literally, very easy questions) over the past 12 days?

That was run by Management, maybe it wasn't posted at the right time and I really disagree that infrequent requested all competitions like that would be posted in a stickied thread as I think that detracts attention from them and they'd get more attention in individual threads but still.

I think we've done very well to promote Christmas this year, it feels as though we just can't please anybody?

All we'd get from doing each one in a stickied thread is other more important announcements shifted down and people seeing threads with almost identical titles. At least in one thread, people know where it is. And I think if someone else was to say how to do it they probably would've said to do it in the same manner. If you wanted more attention for it, you could've added a link to your sig rather than your sexy santa

The problem is when it's in announcements it tends to link to the first post, that's what I find anyway. At the end of the day announcements always get pushed down and if necessary they can always be bumped.

I do agree it could have been advertised in signatures though :) Although since it was organised through forum management and I've had little to do with it until recently or I would have advertised it more, however both forum managers have been very busy (one with real life one with forum business). Anyway that's not the point, my point was that Forum Management have done things to promote christmas.

Why do you have to post like that? Bolding words and stuff just makes your posts seem really derogative. No wonder people don't suggest anything.., and then, when people do you're either insulted by it or just simply overlook it. I know it's been left a bit late, but it's been posted and suggested and perhaps it should be considered next year, or when other important events occur.

This place is seriously turning into a troll fest because people are too insulted so quickly by posts like Dannielle's, she's suggested something... don't take it personally.

I'm not attacking anyone or anything, but this place is going down hill because the community that used to be here has just broken down... there is no community anymore.

No-one sees things in the eyes of other people anymore, it's too much of a dog eat dog forum... everyone's turning a bit too selfish to make this place a community and I'm sure, that most of us are fed up of it, if it doesn't stop, I think that some of us won't be here for much longer. Some empathy needs to be added to this forum before there is no forum because no-one will be here soon.

kk just my opinions so dont stab me. fnks luv u all

If you read replies to Danielle's post by myself, infrequent & MattGarner you'll see that it wasn't treated as an insult, we just said it was left too late.

When people then start insulting our forum management because this hasn't been done is when people get defensive, as this is not really necessary.

And I format my posts because the formatting tools are there to be used and it gives more of a feeling to the post :)

fair enough about the formatting tools, but when you use them, it changes the tone of a post and makes it seem very... obnoxious and rude. :) i'm not the only one who finds your posts derogative and "stuck up", so please don't think it's just an error I am making ;)

& It seems very much that you take anything that is critical, sensible or immature as it is, you take it personally.

"And I think it's outrageous that forum management are being slated for not promoting Christmas. "

"Have you not seen Habbox Forum's 12 days of Christmas? Which has been giving away (literally, very easy questions) over the past 12 days?"

I think I speak on behalf of most people here, but the majority of us are made to feel small and this is not how it should be in an environment like this, this is forum, a community and we are all equal. :)

I will defend people who I believe have worked hard and get nothing but criticism as that is only fair.

As has been said in this thread, a Christmas forum may have been a good idea earlier this month however it's not needed now, after all that's all this thread is discussing :)

Some people then decide to jump on the "Forum Management are dreadful" bandwagon and I feel that Forum Management deserve backing up to some respect, and if this is my belief I am going to do it.

I have nothing more to say on the matter :)

To be honest, the Christmas forum never even came into my head. I do remember a forum last year for it because I posted in it. I'm sure people will make sure there is one for next year. But for now, I'm sorry that there isn't one and it's a bit late for it to be made. So I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

At the same time you must remember that people are entitled to their opinions and when you post seemingly snotty posts makes their opinion disappear and seems to no longer be appreciated.

People around here, not specifically you Oli, have got to start recognising that Habbox isn't something as huge as Sony nor as small as idk, a church communal. It's an environment for discussion and not for trying to make other people feel small. It's not a huge enterprise and that users don't get kudos for making other people feel small or inferior. :)

That's a better reply than I was expecting, +REP for a post that actually is considering other people and doesn't make other people feel small or inferior. merry christmas too :)

I understand that people are entitled to their own opinions however it's Christmas and Danielle innocently posted this thread enquiring as to why there isn't a Christmas forum and people immediately start directing the blame to MattGarner, where is the Christmas spirit?

As I said earlier people tend to be saying we have too many forums at the moment so I can fully understand why this didn't even cross Forum Management's mind, this is a time of year for appreciating what people do and who they are, not criticising their every move and it really gets to me that people can't be optimistic even at Christmas time.

Merry Christmas.

Ignore them, it could be a lot worse and I thought that as a super mod you'd know to ignore the negative posts that really aren't constructive, so just ignore them ;)

merry christmas to you to

Indeed. Yes, people have been saying cut down on forums, but this one is only a temporarily one lasting approx 20-25 days.

There have been 12 days of Christmas but thats just 1 competition. There should have been many more things going on in the forum tbh and thats the FM's job.

i think its fair to say that Habbox has ruined everyones Christmas
