Personally I find amazon better quality and a much better service. I trust amazon more than ebay as the majority of the products you purchase off amazon are from actual company's however products you purchase from ebay are mainly from individual people.
Do you prefer ebay or amazon? and why?

Amazon. They're just simply better in every way - more trusted, cheaper, free postage, more new and better quality items than ebay and in some respects a better catalogue too. Plus they gave me £2 to spend on whatever I wanted in their music store just because I bought an album from them, while ebay keep charging me seller fees when I'm not even selling anything. Ebay is only better for more obscure things and collectors items.

Well ebay is an auction site and Amazon is an online shop.
It's like comparing a football match to a space station canteen. Completely different things.

ebay has a 'marketplace', if you can call it that. It has shops that sell at buy it now prices only, and so does amazon. i assume thats what hes on about

Agree with all these

Amazon has a market place too, but also the 'official' stuff from the Amazon warehouse

Amazon is by far the best. Their quality control and customer service is so much better. :)

Amazon. Cheaper, more reliable/trustworthy. You can order from amazon itself (so no concerns with your item getting to you) or from other sellers which are usually businesses whereas on ebay its just random people

Amazon, but if you said Amazon Marketplace or eBay which is more of a smilar comparison then it would be eBay.

Amazon because as has already been said - it's more trustworthy. That being said some of the independant sellers on the marketplace are a bit dodgey but I've had nothing but good service using it, touch wood.

Amazon half the people on Ebay are either people selling fakes from China or some guy from Africa trying to scam you with stolen credit cards.
atleast with Amazon the sellers are more trusted but amazon is mostly electronic stuff now adays not just books.

I just go with what ever is cheapest but it does depend on the product. I've been buying lots of CDs recently, and sometimes you can save about £5 on ebay so it's worth it. A good mix of the two gets you the best products at the best prices :P
I think some of you are going a bit OTT with all this trustworthiness and quality control, the majority of eBayers have sold thousands of items and are very safe to use.

I've only used eBay for games which are ridiculously overpriced on Amazon (Example - Bought FF9 off eBay for £17, Amazon's cheapest is selling for £50) . So I'd have to go with eBay. Anything else online is bought from Play.com or another respective online specialist retailer. About people being trustworthy, it doesn't take a braniac to look at someones feedback and see if their is any negative comments. I only buy with people that have over 1000 feedback and 99.5%+ of that which is positive.

depends entirely on price. sometimes amazon is cheaper, sometimes ebay. usually depends on what youre buying.
but i have amazon prime, so i get free 2 day shipping on all my orders. thats a plus.

I've only used eBay once or twice and I'm not sure if I've ever used the Amazon Marketplace (as Brandon said these are more comparable).
I use Amazon or Play.com for most online shopping though, whichever is cheaper at the time.

Amazon, have never used eBay
Amazon paved the way for other online shopping sites
Therefore .. Amazon!

I use both, but personally I prefer ebay. Its usually quite easy to know whether the person is trustworthy from their feedback and if they don't have any then you buy knowing the risk. Amazon I just use or their digital downloads, quite cheap in that respect.

Oh definitely amazon as the quality is more controlled and ensured, and its hardly ever just randomers.
