Competitions!

I couldn't remember which thread about how we need to improve mentioned competitions, as there are so many of them (oops). SO anyway, competitions department take note of what graham is currently doing in the spam forum. Hes proving a very very good point. The current Guess Who competitions are quick, easy and simple. Its these type of competitions, smooth quick and easy ones, that need to be done with prizes based on the forum. The amount of simple competitions like that, you can think of loads Im sure and I would be more than willing to help you think of some, get graphics done etc, would be amazing. You could easily pull out at least two a day minimum with those type of quizzes on top of the monthly ones you do now. The announcements dont have to be anything special and we can create an account called CompetitionEntries or something similar where all entries for competitions of that type can be sent to. Just pop the comp name in the subject n ting. This is just one long paragraph, weeeeee.

Yup I like that VERY much and when people like Immenseman has done them in the past they havn't always been closed after the answers been given out but get like 100 posts in them so they are definately popular!

no I meant for pretty things like announcement headers/logos just so it isnt too plain, but they can be whipped up in literally minutes or hours.

I should hope so, Im not familiar with how prizes are given now that donations cant be made so I would give inseriousity a PM, if not Roxy916 if you're having any trouble after that.

I spent hundreds of credits on staff awards doing trophies and I did all the HxSS one year and then I won a staff award ---MAD--- said he'd get me my trophy. I'm still waiting peeps.

We're going to be doing all of this for 2010. When I say "next month", next month isn't exactly 20 days away, it's 2 (happy new year everyone).

As for prizes, you're exaggerating a bit there smits! It's november, not september. I tend to wait a bit and request all the furni all at once. Unfortunately, prizes take a while because I have to request them from Jin and then get them from him then give them out. As soon as Roxy gets all the furni donations (if she hasn't already), it should be a lot quicker.

Why is it so hard for a user to use the thread and suggest ideas they would like?

havent you seen the threads with ideas about competitions in them? its your job to come up with things not ours

As far as I can tell suggested ideas are just thrown into a vault of future comps, out of which for the past couple of years perhaps 2 or 3 a month have been chosen at a time. There must be a huge amount of potential threads stored away somewhere if the ratio of comp ideas to actual comps that I've seen come to light is accurate.

On the "next month" controversy, as I've said before I was told in september that this was being sorted soon and that comps were going to be one of the best departments in the future. Again, that was september

No for serious, you'll see some changes within competitions - a lot of quicker competitions being posted, entries sent to a specific account, quick forum related prizes such as rep & vip etc etc coming like very soon.

Good, it has been a long time coming but if it's finally going to be added then it's cool. We better not be saying the same thing in a couple of months though, lol.
