What console do you think is the best? Vote in the poll above.

Personally I prefer the 360 to any other console as I find the online is much faster, lagg free most of the time and easier to understand. I find the graphics are better than any other console and most of my friends have 360's more than ps3's. The downside to the 360 is that you cannot go on the actual internet unlike the ps3 but overall I think it's the perfect console and the price for xbox live is worth it!

This is my choice and please respect that. Please don't argue as this is a debate :)

Even though I'm a PS3 owner, I do prefer the Xbox.

The post is all wrong, but 360 will come on top because most of the console games forum owns 360s, not so much PS3 or other consoles, doesn't mean either console is worse, just means more people prefer the 360.

Neil is right.

PS3 now, PS2 console of the decade and generally the best overall.

I personally like the 360, the Graphics are generally just as good as PS3 and the online is a better experience (Although it is a paid service). Also the controller for the Xbox 360 is so much nicer to use and it has a good weight and a nice trigger grip.

Ps3, Prefer the way my thumbs sit in the controller, don't have to pay for online play and my experience with psn is better than xbl.

Xbox 360 kinda, but really my favourite games are on the PS1 and Gameboy.

Personally, I hate how the analogs aren't opposite like the PS3s.

The DS and Dreamcast are the only things mentioned in that list that I haven't had, and I voted for the PS2. I enjoyed my PS2 more than I've enjoyed my 360 and PS3 combined. One of my biggest regrets is getting rid of my PS2 and games (and buying a PS3). I'd say I enjoyed my PS1 more than my PS3 as well.

That got to me at first, but you get used to it and it gets comfortable and easy on the hands too.
Haven't touched a PS controller in a while though, so I can't really compare :P

Xbox 360 controllers over PS3 ones any day, they are much better designed, after a while it feels right, you don't use the d-pad half the time so it makes sense having the analog stick in the critical position rather than the d-pad, also heavier, not flimsy and the triggers aren't horribly made.

So it's a debate but we can't argue? Epic.

Agreed. I can understand why Sony have stuck with the original controller throughout though because when I first heard of the PS3 before I had ever touched an XBOX, I was hoping they would keep the controllers the same as it's just what you're used to. But now after using both for some time, I find the 360's to be significantly more ergonomic and feels like it's better made.

Na ps3s ftw, they don't have that horrible battery bit with my fingers squeeze in between, and the d-pad bit depends on ze game. D-pad is better on ps3 tbh and why would you want a heavy controller? Obviously you don't want it too light but to me the PS3 dualshock ones are good weight. Also, I don't see what you mean by flimsy and triggers being made horribly, plastic is plastic lol.

PS1 was the best console.
@dbgtz - Thats why there are converters for PS3 to enable a 360 controller but not vice versa :]

Are you sure its not because ps3 has bluetooth and 360 doesnt?

The 360 triggers are more like triggers because of their shape and you can actually vary your pressure on them but the PS3 ones are pretty much the same as the PS2 L/R2 buttons.

I also prefer the shape and material of the 360 sticks. The PS3 ones are too slippery kind of, I get more grip with the 360 ones.

Fair enough. Also I think it's more of the shape because 360s are concave and PS3s are convex. Knowing me I got those 2 words mixed up.

You can vary the shape on the PS3.. Can't remember which game I was playing but I could do it easily.

Or was it PlayTV, either one..

my xbox broke after a year and i currently own ps3.

the console itself i prefer ps3 but i prefer the xbox controls.

With the xbox i had the ethernet cable going all round my room and over the door because i didn't fork out the extra £40 when i bought ps3 i was shocked to find it was all wireless already and very compatible.

do you think you could get a wired xbox controller and plug it into the ps3?

Going to say PC (it's on the poll, therefore I can argue for it!). I enjoy the modifications that come with the games I play, for example Team Fortress 2 is improved drastically by the community effort that goes into new maps and the like.

Did hardcore N64 gamers hold the middle bit sometimes to just use the stick and ABC buttons?

I did that sometimes, but I'd usually use the D-pad wherever I could. Haha, I remember when the N64 came out no one had really seen an analogue stick before. I'm glad I grew up with these kind of revelations. I'll be able to tell my future children a good few stories about the days when gaming was still considered a nerdy pastime.

Yeah :P. I never had a 64 so I didn't use sticks until the PS2 came along. At first I was always turning the analogue button off so I could just use the d-pad lol. Now when I play the original Driver which I've downloaded on PS3, I accelerate then wonder why I can't steer with the analogue sticks :P.
