Right decision to stop doing it imo, I do believe I wrote this in the what shall we call the newsletter thread:
Might as well call it the habbox portaloo, it's going to fail anyway :P
Hate to say I told you so :D
I personally think that trying to do something so huge was a bad idea, however I do think it would be beneficial if we kept a massively smaller scale newsletter.

I disagree completely, infrequent put it very bluntly but accurately in his announcement. Its a waste of time that you could be putting towards more important things!

I read the first one, but got bored. It was far too big, indeed was a waste of time - and it's not like the-already-small department needed extra strain on it.
Good idea to scrap it, hopefully now time will be focused on sorting out more interactive content for the user! Didn't say anything.

I think it was a little to long to be honest.
I read bits of it though.

I agree, it took up HUGE amount of time and everyone in his departments suffered. I think a tiny scale newsletter should be publised each month just listing things like forum changes, management changes etc.

Where was this newsletter?

It was under the 'Newsletter' tab on the navigation on Habbox.com, it was also posted in announcements. And Alex, I mean as like a summary for people who might not have seen some of the changes. I originally remember the idea of it being quarterly with Habbox's quarterly aims and goals etc.

Huge waste of time, and to be honest, I never knew there was one still :/ Fansite Newsletters always flop, especially when there is absolutely nothing to talk about. The Announcements forum serves this purpose, and information comes flying out immediately. A weekly newsletter is too late, and will contain too little.

what is the newsletter
Non-existant anymore :P
Anyway I won't be missing it. After reading the first one it was just huge and frankly, couldn't be arsed reading it all (and that was the feedback given I see previously, and it did improve by second 'issue').
Secondly, I didn't see the point in the newsletters, because on this forum there's all those announcement forums stating all these changes.
Oh and as said, it probably is better to discontinue it to focus more on other things to do with Habbox.

It's not that a newsletter was a bad idea, it's just (without trying to be rude) whoever did it didn't do it very well.
If it was designed as a modern web page rather than a 90s-esque giant scrollbar on a white page then it could easily have become popular. If it was like a comic book layout (panels) and fitted snugly onto an average screen (without much scrolling), and the text was small but varied in font and colour with good use of images etc, it would have been much more appealing.

Yeah but to be frank there just isn't enough going on. I remember 8freak8 posted one which was personal and gave people updates what was going to happen in the next quarter of the year. So there were only going to be four a year (although I think he only ever did two). They were good. So if Sam or whoever the perm. GM is going to be wants to do 4 or so a year then yeah they'd be read by more. Either way I don't really care.
not really, don't think anyone really cared about it.

I think it was a nice try and a good effort on inrequents part, but I guess we've just had to learn through trying that it hasnt been the best idea in the world.
