Worried about what people may think

I have this friend. And she has just told me she is biisexual. Im completley fine with it but shes to scared on what the rest of our friends may think and what her parents may think. What should she do ? :(
She's really worried because shes close to her friends and she doesnt want them thinking she is sexualy attracked to them which she isnt.
And doesnt want her mum and dad to feel let down by her and doesnt want to be treated any differently.

Well it really depends on what her friends are like, I know if one of my mates said tomorrow "I'm gay" I'd be fine with it but it would be extremely awkward to stay friends. I'm not saying it would be awkward to stay friends with a gay guy I'm saying it would be awkward because I've known all my friends a long time now. That's besides the point.


As for her parents tell her to tell them and if there not happy tell her to tell them to go **** themselves, ok maybe thats harsh. But she shouldn't care what people think, If your gay your gay end of. Get on with your life, in the long run if she leaves it it will be allot harder (thats what she said) to tell them. If people keep worrying about what people will think their just gonna worry their whole life. Its like I make a fool of myself when I go out but I don't give two flying ***** anymore once I have a good time, I'm happy.

To sum it up, she should tell her parents and her friends and if they don't like it they can deal with it.


When it works out

She should sit her mum and dad down and say something on the lines of:
Your friend - "Well ive been curious for a very long time now and ive finally built up enough courage to admit that I like both men and woman"
Mum and dad - :O
Your friend - star cry star
Mum and dad - *family hug* it will be ok darling, I'm glad you told us.


When it doesn't work out

She should sit her mum and dad down and say something on the lines of:
Your friend - "Well ive been curious for a very long time now and ive finally built up enough courage to admit that I like both men and woman"
Mum and dad - OMG YOU LITTLE STUPID GIRL
Your friend - star cry star
Mum and dad - So your sexually active?
Your friend - Yes
Mum and dad - When I was your age we were cathing pokemon not stds, get to your room, or shall we lock you in the basement? hmm

Just tell them when it comes up in conversation. I mean, its no point telling them when they are talking about cars or some **** like that. If they say something like "wow, Mr. X is hot!" she could say "I think Mrs. Z is hot too" and if they go "uhh..." then she could say "i'm bi" (obviously in a less subtle way".

If they are real friends then they won't care, although some people do go a bit funny about it. The best way to tell them is like as if it's no big deal, if no big deal is made out of it then they won't think it's a big deal as much if that makes sense.

Tell her to tell her friends, maybe be with her when she does?
and be with her when she tells her parents. It'd be easier for her if she had you there too.
Also, it shouldn't be that big of a thing as she isn't completley lesbian.

she's not actually gay, shes bi, I'd prefer to be friends with a bi, than a gay, because I dunno, I just would. Anyway, it doesn't matter what friends think they're not mates if they make fun of it.
