so basically i told a friend (not my best) that i was gay, and he seemed ok with it, so i was like.. cool. (this was on facebook, classy!) and then another guy saw it and now he's all like... "are you gay haha!"
it's getting on my nerves tbh
and for those who say tell a teacher, i did, and the teacher is very understanding and told me she's going to help me with anything that i need help with and that she is always there for me if i need it.
why are people so out of order? :\

because if you're anything like you are like online then it's because you pratically use your sexuality AS your personality, seriously everything i've seen you say is in some way to do with gay sex or something along those lines + just look atyour forum name. maybe you prance around like an otp queen and deserve it.
otherwise maybe he's just a ****, shouldn't have outed yourself so publically if you weren't ready for it.

The school went abit funny with one of the students wearing makeup (goth btw!) and the tutor of the form stud up for him and said if he has to stop wearing makeup then i want all girls within the school to have no make up whats so ever. the school took no further action.
I told you that story because it just shows what lengths teachers will go to support the students of there school. If people can't handle your sexuality, then maybe they arnt your real friends?

Quite frankly your attitude disgusts me. There is no reason, gay / les / bi individuals should not be able to be open about who they are and their sexuality. I do agree, however, that 'shoving' sexuality in the faces of others is wrong. It is a personal choice, and should be kept so - nevertheless, if people are curious and ask, and if you want to be open about it that should not be a problem.

Just firstly, well done on coming out to someone, and its good you've told your teacher and from what you've said, its seems like they're gonna be a big help you to.
Basically sexuality is a 'main topic' in modern day society and as homosexuality is considered a minority, like every minority, there will always be discrimination from the majority (for whatever reason) and although like other minorities in the past (such as Sexism and Racism), there is still discrimination against them. The best thing to do with it is just ignore them and accept that for the moment it is something you may have to deal with, and although it may be difficult, it will get easier to deal with and eventually those individuals will lose interest and move on. Just stick with those who accept you for who you are and don't give a **** about those who don't.
Just remember that you can't help being who you are and it is your fundamental right as a human to be identified as you are and to be treated as equal regardless.
*And LOL, the advert banner came up with 'Gay Mature Dating' and the person on it looks like my next door neighbour back home xD!*

It isn't sarcastic :P (despite what my username is ;)), discrimination against sexuality is something I take very seriously, I've been called many hurtful things relating to my sexuality without any associations made to whether I'm gay or not, also some of my friends are openly gay and I've seen them being discriminated against and I can see how much it actually hurts them, and it isn't fair for people to be treated in such a way based on something they can't control.

wow; no-one in my school is gay (that are out) and I don't want to be the first though, I think my form tutor or head of year group will help me if I'm in trouble or something, but the teacher I spoke to is extremely helpful. Im not trying to get at you or anything, but it does annoy me when gay people just flaunt their sexuality about everywhere and they are just ranting and raving and always using it as an excuse for everything (i have a mate like that, hes very very irratating, he uses his gayness to get out of anything and everything) but at the same time, it does annoy me when straight people go around trying their hardest not to do anything remotely queer or homo and if they do, they will make sure that they are seen as straight, even if it is violent.
Im straight, yes, but im not the manliest man ever... I put on a dress for a halloween party, i put make-up on for a friends photoshoot. I guess im just comfortable with who i am haha.
ANYWAY... I went off on one then haha. What im trying to say is maybe you might be coming on a bit to strongly with you coming out and telling people? I dont know as i havent seen what you're like in real life.... Maybe try do it discretely (im not saying you are just running around shouting it out)

Just look at where those countries are though. Its mostly middle eastern countries or African countries or South American countries which are against it severely, which is hardly surprising. When we look at places in Europe I think it shows how socially accepted homosexuality is becoming and will continue to become. I won't comment on the relgious aspect, cus I'm not religious and therefore pretty much dont care at all.
What you said previously is right though, though I don't think your attitude does the sentiment justice. Equality means equality for all, not equality for everyone but a bit more for me cus I wanted equality first wahwahwah.
I have to agree with what Jen said in her first post, and I wouldn't really call her homophobic at all - or genuinely homophobic at least. Though Im not sure I agree with the part about flaunting it around on the internet (whoever brought that up). In that case I would have to agree with Dandertaker. I flaunt my gayness about mainly for jokes, ***** and possibly giggles, but I certainly don't do that in my life outside the forum.
I think the word homophobe, homophobic etc etc is being thrown around way to loosely (lol) and I think that we have to realise the differnece between someone having differing views on homosexuality and people who genuinely despise homosexuals to an extent where they are condemned.

HAHA no. this is the kind of attitude from homosexuals that piss me right off. i don't care about your sexuality but when you use it as an excuse or against people it's just downright pathetic. i'm not using being straight to act superior so why should you act as though myself and others are treating you as though we are? homophobia is when you dislike them FOR their sexuality, i dislike the way you use yours. there ARE people who don't need to flaunt their's 24/7, i'm straight & i don't go about flirting with every single straight guy i know just because i can (joke i do really but don't tell anyone)

so you can get loads of gay rights!!!!11!?!?!?111? if that's your agenda then believe me you wouldn't be very popular, why do the majority of gay people i've met all want to do stuff for gay rights? what about the rest of us? i have much more respect for famous people for example who come out after years, shows they don't use their sexuality to get into things and out of things (omg -sexual innuendo- lmao i'm so gay). plus, why is sexuality such a big deal? fair enough, it might be a relief to tell everyone but if you're not ready then just leave it. even then, why be so ashamed of telling everyone?

There is nothing more detrimental to the cause of sexual equality than militant gays. It ranks up there with extremist Muslims who spoil it for all the decent ones by acting out and pretending the whole world is the enemy. I'm entirely in agreement with Jen (obv because she's carrying my baby so I have to be) with pretty much everything she's said above.
There's a difference between being openly gay and being a sex pest. Thread starter comments on literally every male who posts a picture here saying that he wants to sleep with them, fair enough we get it you enjoy a good sausage but no-one likes the kids who do that with every girl who posts pics so why would it be different for guys? Whoops I'm clearly being homophobic here because I've spoken out against a gay guy, my bad I forgot that equality meant extra rights.
oh please. you know nothing about me and what i've been through, if you think you've got it hard... what do you think i've been through.
You have no idea what i have been through but i have a point and you react to it using sarcasm.. lowest form of witt? thanks grippz, I don't flaunt it on here, my name has been Homosexuality since I started and if that bothered them they would of told me.
Maybe try do it discretely (im not saying you are just running around shouting it out)
i guess.
You strive for equality yet you advertise your sexuality.
This is why people get pissed off, I think you should start caring less about how people accept you and how you should accept yourself.
As If todays society accepts sodomy, especially in adolescence.

Look how much countries and religions reject Homosexuality, tell me I'm wrong
so what? i don't care because those countries aren't worth anything to me. i'm moving to western australia, and that supports homosexuality.
As harsh as this person may have put it lol.
he/she is very right!
:\
Him lol. Homophobic comments aren't very clever when half of the forum management is gay.
Well go live in one of them countries then. Our country doesn't outlaw it. Whether you are right or not, your attitude certainly isn't, is all I'm sayin.
I'm confused.
*REMOVED*
:O
brb choosing to be gay
HAHA no. this is the kind of attitude from homosexuals that piss me right off. i don't care about your sexuality but when you use it as an excuse or against people it's just downright pathetic. i'm not using being straight to act superior so why should you act as though myself and others are treating you as though we are? homophobia is when you dislike them FOR their sexuality, i dislike the way you use yours. there ARE people who don't need to flaunt their's 24/7, i'm straight & i don't go about flirting with every single straight guy i know just because i can (joke i do really but don't tell anyone)
oh okay since it's a habbo forum i'll just totally change my personality and be fake then. well nah i'm the same online and in real life. why would anyone want to fake it?
so you can get loads of gay rights!!!!11!?!?!?111? if that's your agenda then believe me you wouldn't be very popular, why do the majority of gay people i've met all want to do stuff for gay rights? what about the rest of us? i have much more respect for famous people for example who come out after years, shows they don't use their sexuality to get into things and out of things (omg -sexual innuendo- lmao i'm so gay). plus, why is sexuality such a big deal? fair enough, it might be a relief to tell everyone but if you're not ready then just leave it. even then, why be so ashamed of telling everyone?
i can 'tolerate' your gayness because you don't use it then wonder why people make fun of you for it, what is the point in that?? + it's not your whole personality (well most of it but SHUT UP it's a secret)
whatever
Whoops I'm clearly being homophobic here because I've spoken out against a gay guy, my bad I forgot that equality meant extra rights.
this makes me laugh out loud.
truth be told
only because some wrinkly skin and a hair don't turn me on don't mean i should be treated differently now, should it.

I think those are all brilliant responses to what were mostly valid points.
this isn't like an insult or anything i just want to know you views on the statement.
"everythings main calling in life is to mate and have off spring of some type, being with something that doesn't allowed this is going against the main purpose of life and therefor is wrong"
Just an argument we have loads in RS (lolz) and I wondered what your take is :)!

All he did was say on Facebook he is gay :S Very trivial, and not worth arguing or being childish, as this imbesile who is annoying him lately is.

It is an interesting statement and is a perfect example of an evolutionary viewpoint that the main drive of our existance is to mate with the appropriate counterpart to achieve a continuation of the species.
Basically humans have evolved to the point that our most basic needs are no longer controlling us, such as the need to reproduce, and as such we have the choice of whether or not to reproduce, and as it is known, many couples have made the choice not to repoduce and would fall under this statement and therefore are wrong. So in this view a persons sexual-orientation isn't up for debate as you will know that same-sex couples are able to adopted or surrogate a child and bring it up which although both members of the partnership do not take part in the conception, they are still with one and other and are caring for and nurturing a human offspring, either through their own or someone elses genetics and maturation.
This is the main thing I bring up when talking to someone who is against homosexuality and use the statement that they aren't giving anything to the species, but then the person goes on to say they shouldn't be allowed to adopt when the simple act of allowing adoption means they are giving something to the species, which would be a perfect example of modern day homophobia.
Not saying you're homophobic or anything by bringing the statement up, just stating its the main (non-religious) arguement against homosexuality which in essence contradicts itself when you consider same-sex couples are allowed to adopt and contribute to the species in another way, which it then comes down to the actual removal of a person's right to contribute or not contribute to the species, which this right has come about through our very evolution and suppression of our basic needs.
Also just to say, this thread isn't in a discussion forum (such as Debates) so why are people debating on homophobia and how the homosexuals express themselves. The user has asked for advice, I don't think its fair (on the people who would want advice from this thread and those offering it), even if the user himself began the debating, to continue it any further, if you want to debate this start a thread in the Debate section and leave the advice section to advice only.
And just to say that my response above is in response to a question another user asked, and personally I do believe its in the wrong section, I am accepting my "hypocracy".

Why are you all having a go at him for 'flaunting his sexuality'?
Maybe he is a bit OTT with it but would you accuse the other male members that have pictures of half naked women as their avatar or talk in a sexual way about women of flaunting their sexuality?

It seems some people don't care about whether you're straight or gay, so it's unnecessary to advertise it in your usertitle, username and signature.

But if someone had the username Heterosexuality and their signature read 'I slept with Roxy' (lol) then people wouldn't accuse them of flaunting their sexuality, they'd be OK with it so why should it be any different for him?
I agree, he doesn't NEED to advertise his sexuality so openly but it's really not hurting anyone.

In my opinion the thread wouldn't have got so out of hand if he hadn't instantly dismissed certain peoples opinions as homophobic when they quite clearly weren't.
People on this forum can't just start a new thread asking people for their opinions or advice and expect to instantly get the sympathetic replies they were hoping for.
Anyway in reply to the original poster there are always people in school who are there to wind you up.. I expect when the hype of you 'comeing out' will die down and this person will randomly try and bring it up again. It happens with everything being gay, the colour of your hair, if you farted in class there will always be that loser in the corner who you hate who tries to fit in by taking the piss out of something that really isn't such a bit deal
Inseriousity.

all management are gay except roxy :l
Come round my house and I'll prove I'm not ;)
Anyway, yeah, as people have said, discrimination occurs because you're in the minority. Anything that is different to the norm is discriminated against, it's just a nasty part of human nature. I think homophobia, in particular, is just a fear of the unknown. There's a gay shopkeeper in the newsagents near me and my cousin has the annoying habit of turning his backside away from him at all times as if scared he's gonna... you get the idea? I did have the description but it's against the rules by the looks of things :(
Just hold your head up high and pat yourself on the back for showing that you are not ashamed of who you are.
Come round my house and I'll prove I'm not ;)
Hah. Typical you!
But yeah, be proud of who you are. Jealous they all are. JEALOUS I SAY!

No, it seems you can't handle the attention you demand. The original point in this thread was about someone being immature at your school but the topic's moved on now to how you specifically flaunt yourself in an annoying way and then expect everyone to love it. You know them 8ft tall 4ft wide rugby lads who go around all the clubs grabbing every woman they see and generally making a nuisance where it's not wanted? You're acting the gay equivalent, taking on stereotypes and making yourself follow them for an image, despite admitting that you're not really like that at all. Furthermore, your inability to actually argue a point rather than just say "I LAUGHED!!!" shows just how immature you are about a subject that's supposedly something you care about.
You can close your own thread because you're VIP. I know it's off topic but i was just helping ;)!
