If anyone comes in here and starts saying how crap the new doctor is, they'll get minus rep. You must have super skills by judging from 20 seconds of screen time.

It'll be strange since everyone is used to David Tennant but I'm still looking forward to seeing how Matt Smith does :)

Same, I wasn't too sure when he got announced but after seeing the trailer he looks quite good. Zany like David, but also abit of a bad-ass ;)

I think he'll be good tbh although geronimo will start to annoy me I think. allons-y ftw :P

I know the doctor uses john smith but I think he should change it to matt smith and use the excuse "it sounds like a cool name." it'd just be one of those dorky jokes referencing his real name as his new 'identity' :P

DOCTOR WHO - SCRIPT EXTRACT - VAMPIRE IN VENICE - EPISODE 8!

THE DOCTOR (CONT'D)
I want Rory to see it too. So I'm sending you somewhere. Together.

AMY
What, like a date?

THE DOCTOR
Anywhere you want, any time you want. One condition: it has to be amazing. The Moulin Rouge in 1890! The first Olympic games! Think of it as a wedding present. Because frankly it's either this or tokens.

AMY
What do you think Rory?

Rory says nothing. Still hunched against his pillar. The Doctor smiles understandingly. He knows what this is about.

THE DOCTOR
It's a lot to take in, isn't it. Tiny box, huge room inside: what's that about? Let me explain...

Well, I think this series will be somewhat exciting. :P

They seem to be keeping some of the historic features such as the Daleks, Cybermen etc. I don't think he will live up to David Tennants standard as the Doctor many have already highlighted that but I do think he will continue to entertain us in a new and unique way like every doctor has in my opinion.

No time to rest and recover; no TARDIS, no screwdriver - just six billion human beings about to die and only one man to save them. Quote - "Who da man?"

Episode 2 - The Beast Below
Writer - Steven Moffat
Guest Stars - Sophie Okonedo, Terrence Hardiman
The Doctor takes Amy to the far future, and Starship UK. The British people, adrift among the stars on a giant spaceship, in search of a new home. But there are secrets here, in the rusting corridors and clanging hallways. A masked figure, who knows the Doctor of old, begs his help, while Amy encounters the terrifying Smilers, and uncovers a secret so dreadful, no one can remember it...

Quote - "Nobody talk to me! Nobody human has anything to say to me today!"

Guest Stars - Ian McNeice and Bill Paterson
From the terrifying future of the United Kingdom to one of the darkest chapters of its past - World War Two. And there, gliding among the nicotine walls and Bakelite telephones, the Daleks are hatching their deadliest scheme yet. Only one man can help the Doctor - but whose side is Winston Churchill on?

Quote - "I wanted to know what their plan was. I was their plan!"

Episodes 4/5 - The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone
Writer - Steven Moffat
Guest Stars - Alex Kingston and Iain Glen
A two-part story. A crashed spaceship, a shattered temple and a terrifying climb through the maze of the dead - River Song is back in the Doctor's life, and she's brought more trouble than even he can handle. The last of the Weeping Angels is loose in the ruins of Alfava Metraxis, and the Doctor is recruited to track it down. "Don't blink!" everyone tells Amy - but as Amy is about to discover, not blinking might just be the worst thing you can do...

Quote - "Is River Song your wife?"

Episode 6 - Vampires in Venice
Writer - Toby Whithouse
Guest Star - Helen McCrory
In Venice, even danger is beautiful. The House of Calvierri has the whole city under it's protection, but something is very wrong. There are blood-drained corpses in the street, something lurks in the canal, and the Calvierri girls are the loveliest in town, except when you glance in the mirror...

Quote - "You know what's dangerous about you? Not that you ask people to take risks, but that you make them want to impress you!"

Episode 7 - Amy's Choice
Writer - Simon Nye
Guest Star - Toby Jones
It's been five long years since Amy travelled in the TARDIS with her mysterious Doctor - and when he shows up again, on the eve of the birth of her first child, danger is not far behind him. Amy is faced with a heartbreaking choice that will change her life forever.

Episodes 8/9
Writer - Chris Chibnall
Guest Stars - Meera Syal, Stephen Moore and Neve McIntosh
In 2015, the most ambitious drilling project in history is under way. Dr Nasreen Chaudhry and her team have reached 21 kilometres into the Earth's crust - but something is stirring far below. Amy Pond discovers there's nowhere to run when you can't even trust the ground at your feet.

Quote - "While you've been drilling down... something else has been drilling up."

Episode 10
Writer - Richard Curtis
Guest Star - Tony Curran
Terror lurks in the cornfields of Provence, but only a sad and lonely painter can see it. Amy Pond finds herself shoulder to shoulder with Vincent van Gogh, in a battle with a deadly alien - saving the world has never been so ginger! But can even the Doctor save Vincent?

Quote - "Art can wait, this is life and death. We need to talk to Vincent van Gogh!"

Episode 11
Writer - Gareth Roberts
Guest Stars - James Corden and Daisy Haggard
The Doctor faces his greatest challenge yet - a flat share! People are disappearing on Aickman Road, and the Doctor must solve the mystery of a staircase that people walk up - but never down.

Quote - "All I have to do is pass as an ordinary human being. What could possibly go wrong?"

Episodes 12/13
Writer - Steven Moffat
A message on the oldest cliff-face in the universe, a puzzle box opening from the inside and a love that lasts thousands of years... The fates are drawing close around the TARDIS - is this the day the Doctor falls?

Quote - "There was a goblin. Or a trickster, or a warrior. A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. Nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it - one day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world."

That took ages to type out.

I think the finale has at least 1 Cyberman because apparently:

They are rumoured to join The Daleks, Sontarans and other old and new enemies in the Series 5 (Season 31) finale. In the brand new trailer there is a short shot of a Cybus Cyberman. These Cybermen might appear in the finale alongside the Cybus Cybermen.

New intro is awful, didn't like the beginning either. But surprisingly he did quite well and despite his quim appearance, I think he might be able to pull it off.

Somethings I noticed in the "previews" at the end:

- The Daleks had a British Emblem on them. (As they do on army suits, signalling that they are with the British?)
- The Soldiers in Dester Camo who appeared used the same teleportation device as from the parallel rift (End of Season 2)

Hmm...

Mark Gatiss is writing the episode, one of the worst writers of the series. He gets blamed for the Lazarus Experiment, but he didn't even write dat, but he did write Idiots Lantern and Unquiet Dead.

I think it's a bit easy to be too over-critical of Doctor Who. The second episode with the floating city kept making me think how old fashioned it seemed to look. I mean old fashioned in terms of how a futuristic world would have been portrayed in programmes made in the past. But then again, they're probably trying not to abandon the original style and feel that die hard Doctor Who fans will love from the older series.

I'm not sure if anyone here watched SJA but i'm sure this article will be pleasing if you do...

Guess WHO's on SJA?!

It's only MATT SMITH and KATY MANNING!

Digital Spy have reported that the "special two part story" will see "The Doctor reunited with Sarah Jane (Elisabeth Sladen) and fellow former companion Jo Grant (Katy Manning)." The episode is being penned by Russell T Davies, which marks the first time he will have written for the Eleventh Doctor!

"Viewers are in for a real treat, with an action-packed story, full of Russell's usual wit and warmth," says Nikki Wilson, co-executive producer, "which takes the gang inside a secret base beneath Snowdon and introduces brand new vulture aliens, the mysterious Shansheeth. All this, plus a trip to an alien planet - a first for The Sarah Jane Adventures."

Other guest stars include Primeval's Laila Rouass and Harry Potter's David Bradley as the voice of the Shansheeth. http://planetgallifrey.blogspot.com/2010/04/guess-whos-on-sja.html

Will be good imo.

Sja is something that keeps me going until doctor who stats again. Anyway, i do miss torchwood, i wish they would make a new series with Jack, Gwen and two new people. Martha and Micky would go well i reckon. Micky can be the computer geek.

I think it's set after they met for the first time because she knows how to fly the TARDIS in one of the clips.

"Experts are finding TARDISes everywhere" - Journeys end

Err, what?

I think you mean what the Doctor said while explaining that his shields wouldn't work, and it was nothing like that. It was

"Experts at fighting TARDISes, they can get through anything" while talking about the Daleks.

The Master had a TARDIS

Probably mentioned if he "lost it" or something, but it still does exist.

He had one, it's obviously lost at the end of the Universe.

Hmm, if River escaped from prison and the doc and amy actually see the crack next episode then maybe she belongs to that prison?

Very interesting episode. I wonder why they are killing the people by breaking their necks though instead of sending them back.

Hmm

forgot that this was gonna be a 2 parter so when it ended i was like OWOT :(

and i really cant get my head around how river songs' past is the doctors future and they're meeting in the wrong order. somebody clear it up for me :'(

dbgtz
24-04-2010, 10:11 PM
Because the doctor first met her at her death. Basically the "wrong order" is the wrong order of his regeneration as generally companions meet him in the order of his regenerations.

She's The Doctor, or a gallifreyan.

Expert at driving the TARDIS, doesn't want the Doctor to find out who she is.

IT ALL MAKES SENSE.

I thought you couldn't cross timelines tho if she was the doctor? Like the doctor couldn't go back and slap himself?

It's really confusing and when I try to explain it my mind just goes all timey wimey :P I'll try.

Lets say River Song first met the Doctor during his 13th incarnation. Here is her timeline which we have seen so far including the bit I just made up about which Doctor she met.

River Song meets 13th Doctor
She meets (unless she's met him before) 11th Doctor in The Time of Angels
She meets 10th Doctor in Silence in the Library
Dies (Well she's living in the virtual world now) in Forest of the Dead
So when the Doctor (10) first met her she had already known him for a long time. When the she first meets the Doctor he will already know who she is.

I thought you couldn't cross timelines tho if she was the doctor? Like the doctor couldn't go back and slap himself?

He's met his past incarnations before in The Three Doctors, The Five Doctors and Time Crash.

I speculate that River Song is an anagram of something so Moffet can pull a twinky and mess with our heads.

Since Amy doesn't remember the Daleks, time can be changed, I speculate that the supreme Daleks wiped out every inferior Dalek out of the sky. This is why all the cracks exist, init.

Along with this, River will die before she is supposed to, for the dramah! The old guy the Doctor was with, during Forest, will sacrifice himself instead.

Amy will be dumped at the end of series 6, I even predict Moff will go one step ahead and kill her off entirely. Or offer the Doctor a choice, the Earth or Amy or something.

Another thing: if the cracks go both ways, that means all the enemies the Doc has faced in the episodes so far, can come back. I think this will happen in the finale and end up with the Doctor having more than a bad hair day.

I really like amy :( but I'm sure I heard they're both returning for the next series.. In fact, that's what you meant I think cus you said season 6, nevermind!!

Also, river song doesn't have that many anagrams :P

I think her name has some meaning.

Yeah this current series is 5, next is 6. I think Karen only has a two year contract (no negotiation) so I dunno.

Just me but I'd like Captain Jack as a permanent crew member, would be interesting and would boost the audience. Because. Two men in a thing that's bigger on the inside.

Ooooo yeah

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/River_(song) - look at the overview (first sentance).

River won't die I think but I like the idea about the new daleks wiping out the old ones, but I doubt it. Also I suspect Amy will be dumped at the end of this series, but I wouldn't know why.l

Also I still think the crack means nothing.

I still think the crack means nothing.

Its a recurring thing, why would they keep putting it in if it didn't mean anything? Its just like that 'Bad Wolf' thing from Series 1.
