Hi I've recently got a new PC with vista.

I've downloaded everything I've needed with no problems

I tried to download Windows Live Messenger and that also has no problems

That is until i tired to sign in...

When you sign it, it says:
Windows Live Messenger has stopped working.

A problem caused Windows Live Messenger to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available

It doesn't even begin to sign in, you just press 'Sign in' and that pops up straight away.

I've been on several forums looking for answers but each explanation seems to be different

So the last resort was here, can anyone help me fix my problem? If not, I guess my msn days will be over :(

Uninstall and reinstall it first, that can fix anything that screwed up when you were installing it. If that doesn't work, make sure you're connected to the internet (you're posting on here so i assume you are but yknow) and make sure your firewall isn't blocking it (check if windows firewall is active as well as whatever firewall you've installed). Check internet explorer isn't set to "work offline" mode cos that stops it working. Try them then come back :)

Disable windows firewall and on your firewall make sure IM ports are enabled.

I've done all those with no luck

Disable windows firewall and on your firewall make sure IM ports are enabled.
