How come it isn't an international fansite anymore?

At every attempt over the years, it basically failed on Habbox. Not sure why because alot of other sites manage it very well.

I remember Habbox.us and Habbo.ca and even HabboxWorld. I think it failed because it was divided. Habbox is still the most popular English-speaking fansite, I don't see why they don't make it international.

Aha, I was Assistant Forum Manager on one of them and then International Manager when they both closed. It just wasn't working, even when we tried to have an international department on Habbox, it just wasn't practical. However, I have no doubt if Habbox wanted to become official on other hotels it could. It could tell their users to vote them official on .com or .com.au or whatever and it'd probably become official. Quite a good idea actually because it'd bring an influx of new users who would wonder what it was like and realise it's one of the biggest forums for any hotel.

I compeltely agree with you here Jake, getting ourselves official on other hotels would be beneficial for the forum.
But then we'd need to do events etc on those sites, which could be a pain.
I remember HxHD USA, that was quite popular at one point.

I don't think we'd really have to do much. Get our current users to vote. High chance of becoming official, do one give away a month. The forum is already well placed for it we have international news and trading on others hotels etc. Rather than hx.com being official, should try and get hxf.com because hx doesn't offer foreign users anything but hxf does because nationality isn't an issue, we already have people from a variety of different countries. Forum and General Management should think about it.

I think it would be great for Habbox to go international and was planning to at least get the international (probably USA) side of HabboxLive much stronger by hiring a few more DJs who use other hotels and hopefully get them doing events on say the .com hotel in order to pull up the radio's international side. We're getting a lot more interest from people who use other hotels which is great. I have been told not to focus on the international side though because hx needs to focus on the uk side of things but personally I don't see why both could happen.
I think it failed in the past because the whole international thing was completely seperate to the rest of Habbox but if like all the depts worked together on it I think Hx could easily start getting a lot of Habbo users from other hotels and that would gradually build up.

The News department is up for this. We continue to provide as many International articles as we can, and we aim to provide a good output of international articles. Yes, they don't get as many "hits" as UK articles, but even hidden away they do still get views. We are currently getting more reporters on board and would be happy to expand Internationally if we are asked to do so. I completely agree with Jess. If departments work together to offer a decent output of content, and suitable advertising is put in place- this could work in a positive way. We must ensure it does not distract from our UK offerings though. :)

We need more international members that is what i think has failed us in the passed, when i started up habbox.us i played .co.uk hotel i did begin to play .com. But we need to hire international staff members so that the international users come to the site.
We have a very big team as it is for dedication to one hotel i think all english speaking hotels we would have one hell of a team maybe even too much to manage.
If it was to be given another attempt the best way would be just to make habbox.com international rather than create multiple websites.

well, as said by other management.
Habbox needs to sort out its UK side before even thinking about moving internationaly. As well there's always improvments and the UK side isnt as strong as it could be, so going into international would mean things wouldn't get on.

Personally I think you should go the other way and cut international news altogether. I can see things like a help desk and radio events pulling in users to the forum but habbox.com itself is still a UK fansite and we just don't have the userbase and presence on international hotels to give international features on the site a real go.
Those international hotels have their own fansites covering international news far more closely than habbox ever will, the international news on habbox is just snippets of some of the more popular news which people on other hotels will know about anyway by the time they come to read habbox. It just seems redundant to me.

There isn't a US userbase because you guys don't bother on Habbo USA. Getting a US staff team shouldn't be hard at all; Habbox is a popular fansite, and people like working at good fansites, it wouldn't take much for some US-ers to apply.
And besides, the current US fansites suck. :l

There is definitely a lack of good fansites on foreign hotels. It has been tried before and it was very hard to find dedicated US and CA staff. If it was as easy as clicking your fingers like you appear to be suggesting then I'm sure current management here at Habbox would look into it in depth. At the present time there are more pressing issues they dedicated their time too and rightly so.

It's not that hard to find a dedicated team, but when a Habbo sees that you're not interested in their region, they see it as if they'd be wasting their time helping out on a foreign hotel, much like I am for a CA fansite. We can't do as much as we'd like to do.

We certainly aren't saying this isn't something we would consider in the future however for now our UK fanbase is what we are concentrating on :)

You make it sound as if the UK fans will leave if ever you divide attention, lol. You guys are massive, been around forever, the most popular English fansite, and you guys sound afraid, loool.

It has been tried before though, for years. The fact remains there just weren't enough dedicated foreign staff thus Habbox couldn't expand it's superiority over fansites. If they tried to put the forum as official on other hotels then it'd be beneficial, they could host 1/2 events a month and as I've already mentioned get an influx of new users, other hotels give their fansites more coverage and better treatment than UK staff do.

Does this idea not relate to the forum?
I talk of "we" as a community anyway... I'm just echoing the words of many other staff members in this thread.

i was hxhd ca or us manager (A)
Mhmm, I believe our failings in the past was purely down to a lack of staff and a lack of popularity for whatever reason.
I mean we would essentially need to duplicate the number of staff for habbox.com on another site (minus of course habboxlive etc). We also have no form of habbo revenue on these other hotels and people are less inclined to donate to a fansite which has little substance.
Frankly I want to concentrate entirely on habbox.com this year, the forum and radio has gained a lot of my attention in the past year or so and habbox.com has not received much love.
I am planning a complete overhaul of the site including new rare values features and a site which is more interactive and integrated. Just something that pushes the boundaries for every habbo fansite a little bit further and will help us gain the attention of other non-habbox users.
I dont want another attempt at becoming an international fansite to come in the way of such a thing and please no PM's offering help in the matter as I think it would be best for us to leave it for a little while.

I believe that HabboForum should go for US Official but in essence not change much, it would allow for a huge influx of users if there were a bit of presence on the US hotel and could increase the user base substantially.

What are we waiting for v6 for the RV stuffs? Or are you thinking about the other thing?

If anything I think it should be habboxforum.com rather than habbox.com that we pushed to become official on other hotels. For Habbox.com to gain a steady influx of users we need to make sure we have a steady influx of international content at the same time, and have something they would want or need to keep them coming back. With the forum, its very easy to appeal to international users and way easier to maintain an international side of.

I think for Habboxforum to even consider becoming official, there needs to be MAJOR changes to the current skins. I know there is new ones but I still think it needs to be said.
