Arabic looks nice if you ask me...
Old School English is the more popular on an arm though... I dont think Chinese would look good on an arm....
The chinese alphabet is different to ours, my name is Robert and in chinese its like 2 symbols.... So i would look into that before i got it, and Arabic.
Nothing wrong with getting English and getting a nice pattern like my friends...

stick with stars until you research your name in that language.
I have 3 friends who are tattooists and they always go on about how they written something else to what they asked for in that language.
Iv had my large star for about 8month now and i love it still : )
Chinese doesn't have an alphabet. As K-Lash said, go for old school English- I think that would look quite nice.

Worse idea ever. Don't just decide "hey I want a tattoo" and then go get the first thing that sounds good. The best thing to do is get a design you like and wait at least 6 months, and if you still like it after that time maybe get it, because tastes change and all that so quickly that you're bound to hate it after a while if you just rush out and get one done
I suggest not getting 1 of your name, kinda pointless and i mean your not going to forget your name but i mean if your just getting a tattoo cuz u just rly want 1 you could just thinking it'd be kinda weird :P

Getting a tattoo because you feel like it is just moronic.

Why would it be moronic?
FlyingJesus

Because especially at a young age your tastes change every like 10 minutes so what you think looks cool now you will look back on as a mistake in ... idk a week

I know that, but Misawa said "Getting a tattoo because you feel like it is just moronic.". Its not moronic at all, if you like it then it really isn't moronic.
(i know that this guy probably will get a crap tattoo but thats his life, not mine :))

Because they get it on impulse to show off a meaningless and unoriginal bit of ink and then regret it soon after. Who the hell wants a star in their skin? If someone wants a tattoo, it has to have had so much thought into it. It's a bigger undertaking than the people who rush into one think. Therefore it's moronic.

the southern cross is possible the most common tattoo and sticker in Australia. And guess what it is! STARS.
FlyingJesus

Precisely, most common
I want a star on my skin, why? because i like it. I wanted to get it for about a year and i finally got it and don't regret it. Tattoos don't have to mean anything and its pretty "moronic" if you think that :)

I was referring to another post.
Having a tattoo of a star is as pointless as just having a cirlce or black smudge put into your skin and popular among teenagers because they want to show one off without the thought, usually so they can hide it from their parents and because they don't have the nerve to get anything inspired. It's like impulse buying.
or a shark........ thats pretty pointless

How? the southern cross pretty much symbalises Australia. It isn't pointless at all.
Just because you might not realize what the star means (not necassarily the southern cross) doesn't mean it's pointless. Like your fake jaws tattoo

On the contrary, it has a point. If you were a Jew and got a Star of David, that wouldn't be pointless. I'm not even talking about the Southern Cross. And no, my tattoo isn't "fake", but thanks for your disdain.

So what you are saying is a star is pointless and now it isn't pointless...?

I disagree on tattoos needing a meaning, but getting one just because at that moment in time you think it looks cool is stupid. Like I said, make a design and wait a fair while before going through with it
either is my star... +*+*+ gotz it cus ima star irl init*+*+
@FJ - yeah thats what i did, waited at least a year

I'm talking about when people literally get this:

.. Yes, what's wrong with that? It could be the start of a bigger piece and it hurt more then they expected, so when they get tougher they will go back for the rest

I have a large star, not filled in and it has meaning to me as something life changing happend to me just over a year ago and a man who was strongly involved had star tattoos and he always said this saying about the stars so i wanted to honor the man by getting a star, if it wasn't for him i wouldn't be here right now. Not only that i think it looks nice. Also you dont HAVE to have a meaning to every tattoo. Some people like ink aswell, like alot of people like piercings and get them.
Old english script can be nice, i have a tattoo saying "Mum" in old english on my wrist and it looks very nice, i wouldn't get it in any other lanuage though, i mean my mums not chinese so why would i get in chinese. Thats just my opinion though, just not a fan of people getting random things in a different language.
