Ok, so I asked this girl I really like to the prom, which is in a few months time, and after inquiring as to whether I was genuinely asking her, she said yes, that she was really happy that I had asked her, but also that she should think about it and get back to me the next day - so I had a sort of provisional yes?
Anyway, the next day I ask if shes thought about it and she basically says that she'd really like to go with me, but she thinks that if she does she'll look like a complete, er - female dog?, to the six other guys who she had said no to, because she had used the excuse "I'd rather just go on my own."
And I know that she wasn't just using this "it's not you, it's me" kind-of thingy as an excuse not to go with me because I have a good friend "on the inside" who has been mates with her a long time.
I was wondering, should I try to get her to change her mind, or not get too you-know about it? Because I suppose from a neutral perspective, "it is only prom". But the thing is we're both going in the same limo anyway and the other guy who is with us creeps her out? ('Cause he is one of the six). Just seems like a massive wasted opportunity...
