Using a USB Hard Disk on Ethernet?

I'm considering buying http://www.ebuyer.com/product/160907 (Seagate 500Gb External HDD). Can I plug this into my Belkin G+ MIMO router using a USB to Ethernet adapter such as this one: http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?q=USB+to+ethernet+adapter&cid=14203308534069377907&sa=title#p ..and access it on the wireless network? I know that if I did do this, I'd need http://www.cables2u.co.uk/coupler-female-female-p-275.html to link the cable from the Seagate to the socket from the adapter, and an ethernet cable from the adapter to the router.

Judging by the price of that Belkin thing, its cheaper to buy an NAS, so thats what I'm doing.

Yeah, I have one of those Belkin's, the transfer rate is (somewhat predictibly) slow, so I'd recommend against one.
