19-Jan-2010 - Agility Benefits for Fishing, Hunter and Thieving

Agility has long helped adventurers excel in other skills in subtle ways – e.g. letting them run for longer while crafting runes or letting them take shortcuts to get to resources faster. Today, Agility (http://www.runescape.com/kbase/guid/agility_members_only) steps up in its role as a support skill in a more direct way.

Adventurers keen on Fishing (http://www.runescape.com/kbase/guid/fishing) will be interested to know that a high Agility level now gives them a small chance to catch two tuna, swordfish or even sharks (http://www.runescape.com/kbase/guid/fishing_extra_features#agility_skill_bonuses) in one go. There’s no additional experience when this occurs, but who could say no to a free shark or two?

Similarly, adventurers with high Agility and Thieving (http://www.runescape.com/kbase/guid/thieving_members_only) levels now stand a chance of pickpocketing double, triple or even quadruple (http://www.runescape.com/kbase/guid/thieving_extra_features#agility_skill_bonuses) the usual amount of loot from unsuspecting targets.

Finally, those with exceptionally high Hunter (http://www.runescape.com/kbase/guid/hunter_members_only) and Agility levels can now return to the butterflies they once lumbered after with their big clumsy nets and show the amateurs how it’s really done, by catching butterflies in the palm of their hands (http://www.runescape.com/kbase/guid/hunter_butterfly_netting_level_15#Barehanded) before releasing them (just to prove they didn’t smush them). Such a display of skill and finesse will be rewarded with a large dose of Hunter experience and a little extra Agility experience too.

Indeed, and alot of players are not happy as being shown by the runescape main forums. However i suppose its ok for people with hgih agility and want to get fishing up.

Great to see another Agility update.

Yeah, "all pickpocketable targets can be used to gain multiple loot" according to the website.

All pickpocketing targets. :)

It makes the game even easier. I think defeats the whole challenge dimension of it. Although most of that has already been defeated. Not the best update at all.

'There’s no additional experience when this occurs,'

So I presume that means that the extra fish will take up invent room, meaning less xp per trip?

Don't see the point in this update really.

^ To the above point, maybe have a thing where they could allow you to use your agility for this or not. If you could turn it off, just so you could train then that would of been quite good. But now it'll be harder to train, as I don't think it was well thought through.

Its actually a really smart move by Jagex, i mean they might of done it for other reasons but less xp per trip = more time paying for members which = more money for jagex :P

Im thinking that when you catch 2 fish at once you get the xp from both fish but when they are saying no bonus they mean no extra xp.
Not a bad update does give you a reason to train agility :P
