Yes seeing as its not as active as many years ago i suggest theese following ideas to give the section a bit of a clear up.

1) Get rid of the Tutorials / Guides forum. - The forum is hardly used and if people wants guides they got to runescape fansites nowdays.

2) Get rid of the trading forum. - It is not used anymore, the only threads posted in there get spammed and no1 ends up buying or selling anything. If someone is selling a pin or something it can just be posted normally.

3) Moderation in forum needs to be improved - I went through around 30 threads the last 20 miniutes reporting threads which were just full of rude/spam/pointless posts with no relation to thread topic, there a 1 or two users mainly doing this and i believe this is putting off new members using this area of the forum.

Opinions?

I agree, the trading and tutorials forums are barely used now and like you said, get spammed. I dont think people would mind if the main forum had trading posts in them if they were genuine. And I agree with the point on moderation, since BobX the moderation of the department has pretty much failed. I guess it helped that BobX was a runescape player too.

Yes, the moderation being a big issue i feel, however i have said to matt i will make sure i look through all posts each day and report the spam ect to get it dealt with seeing as we dont have an active mod. Long as every1 reports the spam and silly posts which should be able to get the section cleaned up nicely.

We don't currently have a gaming moderator so it's being covered by the Super Moderators and none of us know anything about runescape really.

This is something we are looking at resolving soon, I think :)

I'll talk to Matt about a gaming moderator now, and we will discuss more about changing the forum structure when Sammeth is online :).

Okay thanks, :) as i said before, the moderator doesnt have to play the game, long as the members get involved and start reporting posts more we should be fine :)

The only issue regarding the Moderator is we don't know who to exactly put in there or who to hire, it's a tricky area. :(

Yess orangeeesh was always a good mod in there, or i would be happy to help out if aloud. Gotta be sum1 who does know abit about runescape though even if they dont use it, so they know whats being spoken about and in what context ect.

oh thanks, I got a fan. :P
yeh my 3rd time I was on trial though, but I was failed.. but that was due to the section being pretty much lifeless.. had hardly anything to edit.

I can see you being a good mod though.

1) many forum guests use that forum.

2) agreed.

3) one of them being me i guess? and still, we've had forum moderators in our section before without any knowledge of runescape. it's not hard to see when someone is spamming. although appointing orangeesh as a mod there was a good idea i don't seem to think he's say dedicated for too long.

i can think of many ways of improving that forum but there's no use me saying because all the decent members have left and it's just a bunch of idiots posting there now. I don't want to make the section more fun for people i cannot stand.

Puttin a Mod who actually plays was a good idea :)

I think tuts should stay and trading could be merged with others and have a prefix?
