I'm replacing mine tomorrow as when I rear ended a bmw my bonnet hinges (are at the front) bent it below and causes the bonnet to not sit right anymore. I've been calling it the impact bar? but i'm not sure what its called really +rep

Isn't that where the radiator is?

(i don't know much about cars)

yeah my radiator is bolted to the underside of it

I believe its called a slam panel, but I'm not sure.

It may be the radiator support depending on your car.

What kind of car is that? It's a GM but what make/model?

looks to me like a corsa.. and yeah, it is the slam panel. grab one from the scrappies.. all you need is a socket set and your back seats folded down. it is rather heavy mind, and i would reccomend getting it resprayed if it's a different colour. You can't see it from the outside but come resale time it'll be obvious you've crashed it.

awesome, gonna get one tomorrow, thats not my car but mines a clio :P and yeah if its the same colour at scrappy, ima get the bonnet too :P

turns out after a few of us trying for a while the part isn't replaceable for a clio as it's welded in all over the place :( not gonna be able to sell my car now lol

I think some bodyshops can bend it back into shape, but I'm not sure, and I wouldn't trust it that much, especially with the nature of the panel that needs doing.
