Can severe coughing cause anything?

I've had a really bad cough for a few days now. It's like every now and then I'll start coughing really violently. I'm just worried cos it feels like I'm wrecking my throat in the process and it sort of feels like it should hurt but it doesn't... so just thinking if there's anything I could end up with?

I had a bad cough a few months ago and started coughing up bits of blood lol, thought it was TB at first but the doc said it was just my throat was sore and irritated from the coughing

i've been the same LOL but i've had this meltus cough medicine stuff and its worked amazing

Haha my mum asked if I wanted to take some cough medicine but I was like nah cos I hate it.

Sometimes if you cough too hard you can pull a stomach muscle? But I think it's really rare, you should still get some medicine though

My mate pulled a muscle in his back from coughing the other day lol. But yeah I'll start taking medicine cos it's just taking the piss now. Cheers xx

My brother had a extremely bad cough for at least a few weeks a while ago, it was like a chesty cough and all you heard throughout the day was him constantly coughing. It shouldn't be anything to worry about, but depending on how long you have it for, you should go to the doctors if for a while.

Coughing won't cause anything. Others cause it. No need to worry. They're usually a pain in the butt to treat and can linger around for a long time even with medication.

As User above me said, won't cause anything.

However if it's harsh and continuous it could begin to affect the throat lining and the stomach lining to an extent. Definatley get it checked out by your GP.
