If i did 40 minutes of ab workouts 3 days a week untill July do you think I'd have a 6 pack?

Also whats a good way to work your pecks out

Situps/ Pushups, Rowing machines do alot for your belly if you can afford like 50£ for a new one.

Situps work your pecks? I also don't do situps i do crunches situps are bad for you apparently

Still my main question is un-answered :(

Situps do alot for your belly not really for pecks.

And depending on what your eating you should have pretty good pecks by july if you keep working at it and dont get lazy.

My god i really cant read my apologies :P

Yeh if you keep working out by july you should have a decent looking belly, Maybe a small 6 pack depending on what your belly is like atm.

Pushups help your pecks, I am not 100% sure what else does though.

Um you should have a defined stomach by July if you do this however normal situps really don't achieve anything. If you place you legs on a chair or something and make sure they are at a 45degree angle and cross your arms on your chest and bring your elbows up to your knees each rep it will have a greater effect but will be harder to do.

As for Pecks um I'd recommend push-ups. They don't only work your biceps and triceps but also your pecks.

Sit ups do more bad for you then they actually do you good, they focus on your abdominal muscle and not your lower back, to much and youll be a hunch back, crunchies are much better

and i often just do as many as i can, your bound to improve.

Sit-ups only harm you if you don't support your back.

Get yourself a gym membership and everything you need is there for you (:
I'm going on holiday in July and I already dropped 20 pounds and started building up muscle on my arms, shoulders, legs, chest and stomach.
I only been going gym 2/3 months but I can see the effects already.
By July I'm guessing I will have a 6 pack and so could you (:

To get defined abs the main thing is losing body fat.

Most people have the abs there already, but they have fat covering them.

However if yours are not that big, then situps will increase their size, providing your not over working them, giving them time to recover and are eating properly.

I usually do crunches and different ab workouts and do pushups it takes me about 40 mins to do everything i do

Well i usually do a 40 min work out every tues, thurs, and sunday so i believe im giving enough time to recover.

Usually i do foot 2 foot crunchs, alternating curls , arm reaching crunches, normal crunches and pushups.

Also the first few times i did this my abs hurt the next day which to me makes me feel like its working but now since i've been doing it for a month i don't really feel it as much in the mounring? But when im doing them i cant do anymore becasue it hurts so is this just cuz ive built more muscle or am i doing something wrong?

+rep to all helpful answers if i can :)

Maybe buy some cheep weights and do some chest excercises with them?
You'll probs get what you need for under a tenner?
And you can just google what excercises to do (:

This is correct, Everyone has abs everyone has a six pack but as smits said fat is covering them up. I would also suggest cardio exercise as this will tighten you stomach (making more defined abs). People think that by doing crunches/sit-ups they will get abs in no time but what they don't notice is that cardiovascular exercises eg Running,Cycling is really good in helping shape and define your abs and also losing fat.

Just go out for a run in the evening and try and vary your speed eg Sprint short distance and jog some distance etc...
Your stomach may have got used to the ab exercise you are doing and is not having much of an effect anymore. What i would suggest is a different and a more advanced sit-up. I posted a youtube link of a great 6min ab workout video a while back Just extend the time and vary the reps and you should have a defined stomach by July.

You will need to lose stomach fat first or this will have little effect.

I've seen that vid before I'll start doing some of those aswell. But still when im doing them my stomach kills and i do 3 sets till failure with rests in between and it goes to 40 min but it doesnt hurt as much the next night but killls when im doing it so i still dont get it :P

Ill try what the vid says and see what happens also i dont think i have to worry about losing fat im pretty skinny already :P

like other people have said, getting a 6 pack is more about cardio and diet than it is about ab workouts. you could have the bulkiest abdominals in the world but it wont matter a bit if youve got too much fat covering it.

If you say your skinny I see no problem you having well defined abs by July but don't overwork as it will cause long term damage to the abdominal muscles.

When they hurt it's a sign that you are working the muscle correctly, You need to feel the strain.

There's also that 8 minute abs program, it's a bit cheesy but just take note of the exercises and how long to do them for. It works all over your abdomen, like the couch one, and it kills. Still I did that over the summer last year and it really does work. I actually stopped cause I didn't want ridiculous abs on my otherwise small frame lol.

Alright well they hurt alot yesterday when i was doing them, but once again when i woke up in the mourning they dont rly hurt i dont feel much actually ? So is this fine or am i still not working them hard enough because when im doing them i actually cant do anymore or ill die.

2 minutes of crunches a day for 1 month got me results. Depends on current build and diet aswell.
