I mean this in the sense of religion, values, hobbies and skills etc:) Will you aid or lead them in any of these or let them find their own feet?

i'd teach them to have fun in life but still work hard, but if they failed in school i'd ban everything :D

if i have any girls i'll teach them to be different and not fall into the same trap as me and be exactly like everyone else
tbh would let the father (if he sticks around or i know who it is ;l) deal with the boys cause i have no clue, otherwise i'd just let them do what they want.
i wouldn't be strict at all but i'd pass on my own experiences with drugs/smoking/alcohol and try to tell them the dangers even if they learn about it at school. my mum and dad never did really but my dad smoked so he wasn't exactly a good role model :S
i would encourage them to do well in school but wouldn't push them to. i won't really know how i'll act until then and hopefully that'll be a long while off :D

Well I think that I have a pretty general knowledge and alot of my friends dont down to the simple fact that their parents didnt tell them meaningless information. Now it helps me out and just sayings that people say. I would also like to teach them whats right and wrong in general but also to stick up for themselves. Its not been untill recent years that I realised that if I dont change I will just be walked over and I dont know if it was a confidence thing or anything but ye.
I dont know really, its all the little things that your parents do and you dont realise.

I'd want them to do well at school, I wouldn't push them, but I just feel strongly about education, what's the point in wasting it? I'd make sure they stayed away from the wrong sort of people. Cause of how I am now, I go out with my friends, and they do EVERYTHING under the sun, but I don't, it doesn't get boring, but I'd feel bad just not hanging out with them. So it's like a shock when I hear what one of them has done. I never want my kids to do anything like that.
In terms of religion, they could choose, I'm not very religious myself and skills/hobbies it'd be up to them.
Tbh, I agree with Alkaz, just education and all the other lil things parents do

I'd put them on the right path of good education, no drugs, etc. I want my child/children someday to have a better life than I had. educations really important and obviously I wouldnt flip out if they did bad on stuff but I would push them to get at least decent grades. I think education is truly the source of a good life in the long run as it usually leads to less money problems in the future, nicer life, not getting involved in drugs and sex, etc. I'd also try to teach them about staying out of drama and just being nice to everyone or ignoring them, but that you need to act civil towards people even if you dislike them. I'd also make sure they arent spoiled even if my family did have a lot of money in the future, as I know a lot of spoiled ******* and they didnt turn out so great ;l I think taking things for granted is awful, one girl at my school does it and owns ONLY hollister/abercrombie (brand name) clothes. she rarely re-wears clothes. and then there's girls like me who get as much as they can, save up for nice clothes, etc. but really are just happy to have anything at all (not to make myself seem all gr8 lol). I also think that its important to teach them about boys/girls, but personally I wouldnt go into the sex thing unless I didnt trust them, as I find its awkward and they really wouldnt want to talk to you. I think that the health teachers do a good job of teaching it here and if children have questions they'll find a way to figure out the answer ;) ;) ;) LOL. personally I also am not a very religious person, I'd let them choose, wouldn't bother me. for skills and hobbies I really want a little girly girl someday who I can dress in cute little clothes and turn into like a singer/model someday :D LOL. sorry that sounds shallow. but if I got a girl who liked soccer, sports, etc. I wouldn't mind. it's their life :) I know first hand what its like to not be able to do what you want because you dont have the money, parents dont support you on it, etc. and I wouldnt want that for my kids. I also wouldn't be strict either because I know how stressful it is being a kid with school and friends and boys and drama, etc. I'd basically just be a good parent with lots of mind for their child :)

Tbh if any of my children were religious i wouldnt like it. Schools try and teach children about god etc and imo its aload of rubbish [Sorry for people who are religious] But thats one thing i wouldnt stand for because i couldnt put up with going to church or preeching etc etc till they grew up. I would pretty much allow them to do what they want aslong as they dont hurt or endanger themselves.

If I have any, I think I'll teach mine the obvious things, right and wrong. I assume they just get picked up from parents and school anyway. I won't intervene in their lives apart from education. Relationships and dating is entirely up to them, if they want to date and engage in sexual intercourse before 16, that's fine. I will buy them alcohol too, well when they're at least 16 anyway, it's only fair. I will tell them to be responsible but to enjoy themselves.
With regards to education, I want the best for them. I will make sure they revise for exams and stuff. Even if they're not the most academic I will support them through whatever courses they want to do at College, even if it's more on the practical side.
I'd teach them what's right and wrong and what's important, tell them to do what makes them happy rather than just going along with everyone else and tell them to have fun, I just wouldn't want them to go too extreme. I'm not really religious or anything so I'd leave that up to them and let them make their own decision.
I would want them to have a good education too and if they were struggling I'd help them out wherever I could, although if they decided they really didn't want to do something after thinking about it carefully then I wouldn't push them into it.

Most things are pretty self-explanatory but I think the religion question is a good one here. Since I turned away from religion I've often wondered about this. I think I would try my best to keep their options open when it comes to religion. I'd probably use biblical references as part of teaching (it's hard to avoid with most basic principles anyway) but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be taking them to mass every week, (although if my mum is still around she might do that I guess).
It's a tough one though because you can't really teach it to a child simply as an option, and I'd feel like I was lying if I tried to teach them it as fact. Maybe I'm only thinking all of this because I was taught it so I feel obliged. Meh, I dunno.
I'd teach them to follow their heart, not what they "should" do, make them play an instrument but make it enjoyable. I'd encourage them to do decently at school but not push them very much. I'd make sure they did their homework though fgs, if I had been made to do my homework when I was younger work would be a hell of a lot easier now. Most of all I'd encourage creativity and free thinking, hopefully in a way that'll make them billionaires so they can buy me a mansion in Florida.

Oh and one thing I'd definitely do is get them into football as early as possible. Seriously, if you've got the talent it's probably one of the best career paths in the country and if not, it's still a good asset to have at school if you're half decent at it. I never really got into footy until I went to school and then I didn't know much about it until pretty much the end of primary so I'm crap at it now :P.
I'd tell them not to have kids, because they're expenisve.

Get them into football early and onto a team.
Also teach them guitar, keyboard, drums etc.

Try to filter their internet access a lot more than my parents limited mine, because if I were to be completely honest I think the internet, and social interactions through the internet, have changed me in more negative ways than positive.
